Are you using vbseo? I use to use that on my forum and it absolutely worked wonders!!!

We use it on SEOBUM.com

@JIMZ, it means the URLs are now search engine friendly. Although I thought the forum was private? So does google crawl most threads anyway? I didnt think it would matter so never suggested it.

A search bot browsing Vbulletin is set to follow the path of a defined usergroup, in this case, a guest or registered user. This mean's they can see what a standard just registered user can see, so.. not alot, but enough.

Topics from VIP etc WILL NOT be indexed in google search.

This means now (after a few weeks of crawling) someone was to type in forex brotherhood, along with the thousands of lenses and articles, you would also find this board, probably fairly high up the list because the address is optimised!

And of course even if the google searcher has never registered here, they will be displayed with the home page, not 'You do not have permission to view this page' error, which if it was me, would result in a closed tab.. move on to the next search result.

That explains it, was trawling through some Google pages and came across NC for a keyword. It ranked higher than my page!! Ouch!! : )
