WTF is up with these CB products that just capture emails

These aren't per email capture, right??????
I am talking about pages that have no buy button at all. All they have is fill in your email for a free report, then they send a sequence, and then they make a sale. So how exactly do you get paid for this?

can you give an example of what you're talking about?

from the ones that ive seen you sign up for the report and then are taken to a product page which sell to the user, and also if the user buys through the sequence you also get paid for this as cookies will stay for XX amount of days.

I think its a good idea. There's a mailing list just like that, i just personally get put off when i see it on a sales page.
