Cheap way to host a static website

Do a lot of you use simple static pages for your sites / landing pages ?

If you do and you want to get some very very cheap hosting you can use the Amazons3 service.

This is around 15cents per GB of traffic, and with a static page and some images this would be small cost's compared to a lot of other host's.

The trick is to setup CNAME records with your domain reg, and then point it to your amazons3 bucket.

With this method you would be able to host your static pages / images and make it load from the URL bar as YourDomain.com .

This will save a lot of people some cash each month, and give you a great connection to your pages.

Now I know with NameCheap.com they will let you fully control all your DNS records, and also let you setup virtual emails @yourdomain.com that will forward to any email you put in. So then you can have Email@yourdomain.com .

If you want to be able to send out email from you@yourdomain.com using the fwd method above, just use gmail, then add the account as one you want to send from, then gmail will send a email to verify you allow to send from there, which you will get because it is just a fwd. Once you verify gmail will allow you to send out from you@yourdomain.com.
