First Dub Turbo Sale, from very little traffic!

Hey guys,

I've started a review site a month ago on DubTurbo. Website has about 50 pages of unique content and a few backlinks. Last week I started receiving a 5-9 steady visitors a day on it from laser targetted long tail buying keywords to the internal pages (blog posts).

To put it simply. The website is a blog, with a review of the product on the homepage (the kind of review page with "my" picture on the top right, which tells "my" own story of success from the use of DubTurbo). So I can say the homepage is midway between soft-selling and Hard-selling (can we say medium-selling? lol)

The blog posts are targetting long tails with a decent search volume and are mostly informational with subliminal messages on how good the software would be good for the reader, without explicitely telling them: "You need it". Those posts have a few links to the homepage which then proceeds to convince the visitor.

I have (about) 30% CTR on my blog posts, and an other 30% CTR on my homepage.

From 5 hops:

1 submit form impression 3 days ago.
Today: First sale!

Design: Nothing flashy, black on white, the only images are affiliate links. Clean and professional, but quiet design.

Maybe it's just luck, or maybe I'm really onto something.

Yeah articles were outsourced but some of them were somewhat modified a bit by myself to make them more convincing.

Blog posts were written from long tail buying keywords. Just basic info related to the keywords.

Well done! I just recently got my second sale. I built a blog site with 21 pages indexed in Google, I am only recieving about 8 uniques per day, but we've all got to start somewhere.

Wow congrats! If you get a couple more sales then you are definitely onto something. I guess you must be targeting the right traffic, something I have trouble with.

Great going guys, can't believe I'm hearing you're converting in 5 hops and LM you at 8uniques a day = Great to see. Sometimes it just takes a while, sometimes your method/tweak will just work while the same shit won't for the next person, you guys have started to find your paths. Once you're up to three sales, I'd say it's quite safe to scale/laser in on whatever specifics helped convert, and keep analyzing your growth/failure along the way.

I can definitely see that website grow to 100+ uniques a day within 6 months and I will definitely throw some PPC and Bum marketing at it too!

Norb, How do you scale traffic? What do you do to scale traffic?

I wish there was a 100% correct answer to this, but I'm left with: "Get more traffic by whatever means necessary to keep attracting the same traffic/keys/setup you have going on now". How exactly you do that is 1001 ways to succeed or fail. Scaling is just as much of an artform as getting profitable to begin with. Sometimes it's just dumb luck, sometimes you've been around the block a few times and just instinctively know what YOU have to do, sometimes it's just trial/error, sometimes you just dump money at it, sometimes you wait it out naturally, etc.

In other words "I don't know, but if it was me, I'd be trying a lot of shit right about now or might duplicate/fast-track a few more of these".

1. Build high quality links to my existing pages
2. Add a few more pages + links to them
3. Wait for rankings to increase
4. Send a batch of articles to Ezine and Articlebase + links to them
5. Watch the traffic flow
6. Profit

Quite simple and straight answer to that - TARGET more keywords!

If we're talking about real, organic traffic, then if you want to scale it, then you just have to optimize your site to rank for more keywords, ideally those that have high search volume, but also good conversion rates. Simple.

Congrats on the Dub sale. I wrote copy for this offer, and I think it's a cool product. The Adobe Air platform it runs on is a definite plus.

I don't promote it, although I think there's a big opening coming soon for affiliates to push it harder with spring break season almost upon us.

Just thought I'd post here as well. Made my first dubturbo sale! I haven't really done any work to my site lately because I have that problem of switching projects quick so I have only been getting like 10 hits a day to my site.

I actually got more from the upsell than the actual product. Total commission = $38.72

Very exciting when you get a sale! Might have gotten lucky, but still is awesome!
