    Default Dumb Customer Thread - Feel Free To Add Your Stoopid Customer statements

    Hi All - I thought it might be time to create a thread dedicated to the stoopid customers. The ones that make you want to reach through the net to smack them... hard. How frustrating when trying to explain to a customer your processes, rules, how a PDF works... ugh - - -

    ok - get it off your chest and vent...

    I'll start with this new customer of my prison book....

    ...when I clicked on your website it showed a book so I clicked on it and it took me straight to pay pal where I sent all my shipping info. and payment. I would like to be refunded due to the fact that it is to expensive for a downloadable book. Please respond in a timely fashion. Thank you.
    Idiot... on the site in H1 fashion are big red letters describing
    "THIS IS AN INSTANT DOWNLOAD DIGITAL BOOK"
    I couldn't be more clearer, especially when all the buttons say "INSTANT DOWNLOAD" or something to the effect it will be downloaded instantly once purchased. But, I remained civil, and replied:

    Hello XXXXXX -
    - - the book is actually less expensive than printing as well the author would like to keep the carbon footprint of the book as low as possible. Unfortunately, at this time, I personally am unable to issue a refund due to your acceptance of the book from its download location as company rules do not allow a refund once the book has been downloaded. I see that your IP address: 76.XXX.XXX.XXX - lightspeed.XXXXXXXX.sbcglobal.net | United States XXXXXX SBC Internet Services -

    ...has been to the download location at 7:07PM, 7:08PM and 10:22PM today which clearly shows the book was clicked on and digitally downloaded.

    The site clearly states that the book is an "Instant Download" as well the buttons stating "Click here for an Instant Download" and the bright red, bold, extra large font exclaiming "This is an instant download digital book" - No where on the site is an exclamation that the book will be shipped. As well, I have the address portion in Paypal turned off, so you may want to check to make sure you had indeed placed your address - but it is impossible to place your address in my company's cart as all of our products are instantly downloaded once payment is received as we have no need for a customer address.

    Had you not gone to the download location I could have issued a refund. If I could be of further assistance, please do let me know.
    Now, normally if someone is confused or does need the book in print, as some do, I'll refund the transaction... but not when it comes to morons who are simply looking for a free copy - glad this copy didn't sell on CB...... it would have been an instant loss - I have had some people attempt to steal the book.

    I know some of you may be thinking... well its only $27.97 - why not just give it to the customer... - becuase.... it's my hard earned $27.98 and I worked, and have worked hard to get it.... being in this biz for a while - you get to know when someone is trying to throw a scam - this was clearly one of those times. Besides, this happens at least once per month on all my products - could you imagine if I just rolled over for every person who claimed they wanted a refund... thats a car payment....

    Again - if the person is really wrong - an I investigate their claim and ID - I'll refund positively right away - but not to wannabe scammers. If you're wondering how I knew her IP - I have a code for that and have placed it for free on NC - I won't spill where it is - lets make it an Easter egg ... Hint: the search bar works...

    OK - back to the venting.... So - I know you have a gripe or two - please vent --- it does feel better.....

    That's golden lol.

    I have customers email in re the shipping all the time, only on some products though, and yes same thing - big bold INSTANT DOWNLOAD - NO SHIPPING NO WAITING NO FEE'S! Yet still they just lookie at Mr. Box graphic and think "yay that will be in my hands soon"...

    Best is when people refund our software that has refund protection in it - they refund, then email in asking why it's not working and to help them figure it out - i freak.

    I got an email from a customer saying she couldn't open the PDF on her computer even after downloading Adobe Reader. Once I helped her out and all her follow up attempts to get a refund didn't seem to work, she said she no longer needed the ebook because her friends said they heard the product talks about ................... that they had already done.

    I refunded at last, just wanted to see how far she'd go to get a refund.
