Ok so it's not a scam... I finally made my first sale!! It's working :) Amazon Affiliate Program is My Future

You guys know that I'd already tried the Amazon affiliate network some time ago but back then I didn't know how to sell these products - it's different from selling eBooks and software and other digital products a lot. I've made a site about a product group in the consumer electronics niche and driving traffic to it with a few different solutions (seo, article marketing, videos) and with only 50 visits a day and ~30 posts on the site I'm getting $15 a day by selling these devices + all the related accessories.

It's so cool. I've had days quite a few days in the past when I made hundred times more money but this $15 has real work behind it, work that I like and I consider it a start of a new era for me. I've been doing SOOO many things lately with only medium success now I've found something I really like and can focus on. I was doing adsense for more than half a year now and tbh I hated it. It makes nice money but I really don't feel useful or connected with those type of sites.

I just wanted to brag with my $15 day, that's a new low record in bragging history right?

    Congrats!

It is always good finding something that makes some money and that is fun to do.

For me the first dollars I make from a new type of project is always the sweetest. It helps give motivation and to know that it is working.

Hey man congratulations, I never had that much luck with Amazon. Especially not with stable daily earnings like you have achieved. Nice start, now scale and bank in

Congrats, have you been promoting CB products up to now or have you been doing CPA also?

That's a great accomplishment mate. I've always looked at Amazon as a program made for newbie marketers, you proved me wrong and it's nice to see that you can make decent money out of it!

Actually there is so many products over there to promote that many of the product keywords must be relatively easy to rank for.

Would you mind giving us a few tips? I will probably give a shot at Amazon in a non too distant future.

Sure tyrowen but I'll wait a few more weeks with the tips, right now I'm maybe a rookie given my long(er)[ish] experience with Amazon but surely not a pro! So this might be a 3 days wonder and maybe it will dry up on me, we'll see!

Just sold a $400 consumer electronics product. $26 commission for me
I'm just saying this because this is in the proximity of the commission on selling digital products.

One would say it's easier to convince someone to buy a $45 product from what you can keep 60-70% so ~$25. Is it really? Selling some product with information that can probably be found on the net for free, buyer reads it and if he has at least some brain activity he will ask for a refund AND KEEP the product. Clickbank "begging him" to refund ("Please don't forget that you can ask for a refund for 60 days" etc.) doesn't help the cause neither... And don't get me started on CPA rebills... I just don't have the stomach. I know, shame on me...

Whereas I sold a product that the buyer will surely use every day it will probably help with his job and/or make his life easier. And IF he wants a refund he will have to send the whole stuff back in X days I don't know exactly yet but I'm sure it's NOT 60 days.

Anyways this is just how I see it after a few years in IM. If I would be a Clickbank millionaire by now I'd probably love CB and it's products but as a vendor I've failed so far and as an affiliate I made some good money but A) didn't make that much money B) hated it and still do.

But this is only MY opinion and I don't want to convince anybody of anything. Do what suits YOU the best and what MAKES YOU TEH MONIEZ!!!11

No shame in that, we've all said it or at least thought it from time to time.

It varies from product to product (some have no real refund chance at all! {DVD's for example can only be "replaced"}.)

HUZZAH! Well said. I do a little of both (CB and AMAZON) and a few other things on top of that (infinite diversity).

I know I know... I completely abandoned this topic. To be honest I didn't spend as much time with Amazon aff network as I wanted to. Have a few sites up and running and getting some sales every day.

The conversion rate is unbelievable! 7.34% for the month, it's pretty regular for the past months, and I'm NOT preselling. Just have links pointing to Amazon from my site, in context, images and also a "Compare Prices" button at the end of my articles.

Here's a quick screenshot that I just captured from my account summary:

That's cool Sirkhan and a little better than what I'm running for the month so far but still pretty good @6.40%. This is my first try as an Amazon affiliate and threads like this are encouraging. I've heard of people making thousands a month with Amazon also and I intend to join them.
