What about this, I was checking niches for possible domination and stumbled upon one that has the greasy hands of G all over it - As the #1 "natural" search result.

More support for people who argue that G is "trying" to become the biggest super affiliate of the world.

I have checked some more health niches and see those google/health #1's pop up more and more.. Not in my current niches yet, but I am not too far away.

This might be a trend that is gonna eat into our (my) paychecks. Bummer.

The stuff they put in there for now, is strictly non-commercial though. So whoever wants a real solution to their medical problem quick, is still gonna click an ad (for you adwords cowboys) or the next SERP result after they read this dry boring Google health non-info.

How is google aff program going to help with this bluffspot? I don't see the connection.

One assumption I am making at the moment, is that they are trying to kill or slow down affiliate marketing in health niches for the time being. Maybe the FTC asked/pushed. So now they have a dedicated "google health" page at the top, filled with non-commercial content by some authority. Maybe it's some kind of Google "disclaimer" type of move, so they can always say "we gave you an official trustworthy medical source as the #1 result, then you went on and searched for other stuff".

Like, comparable to the legal problems they sometimes get when copyrighted material is found through their search.
