23rd June "Launch" - Double Conversion? (+ semi-exclusive Choppers JV)

Hey everyone,

I'll get straight to the point: We love the "Launch Formula", but as we are already launched we are doing it slightly differently We are having a "limited time only SALE".

Starting on the 23rd June, for one week only all of our albums will be discounted by 50%. We will have a large "countdown banner" on our site for this week (on the homepage and all product pages), and we will be promoting it heavily.



This Will Work Because:

It has worked before! We did a smaller version of this last November 2009 with only one medium sized (list owner) affiliate promoting it. They received a 7.98% conversion rate and made over 500 sales (Comment: I'm not here to bull***t Choppers (or anyone!), and I am aware that this stat looks too good to be true, but all I can say is that it shocked us at the time and it really happened..):



This time is going to be bigger and better, we have improved our site a LOT since last November:

1. We have made MASSIVE improvements to our website which have more than doubled the conversion rate of our regular day to day traffic.
2. We have also added a shopping cart system (a world's first on Clickbank) which has DOUBLED our average order value (it currently varies between $26-$33).
3. We have several (BIG named) affiliates confirmed to promote this time - who have combined mailing lists of over 355k (so far). This will cause a buzz around the Internet, interest and excitement - all of which will bring higher conversion rates.
4. Our countdown image creates real urgency; the sale will end on time when the timer reaches 00:00. This urgency will be reflected in our newsletter updates throughout the week too - again leading to excitement, exclusivity and strong conversion rates.
5. Repeat Purchases are common. We have a very solid back-end which leads to extra purchases. The first sale is not the end, almost 20% of buyers make a second purchase.
6. Repeat Purchases are VERY common We are not just a 1 product website. We have 200+ albums, and we launch 5-10 new albums every month - you will make sales straight away during this sale, but it is not just a 1 off purchase - you will see sales on an ongoing basis as we release new albums (which we do every 2 weeks), when people receive the offers in our autoresponder, and when run smaller promotions in the future.
7. Realistically the conversion will vary this time from one affiliate to the next, but we are fully expecting solid conversion rates between 4-8%.

Will this work for YOU?:

Yes... if:

• You have a mailing list - affiliates with a newsletter / list will do very well out of this Launch and we have a wide range of email marketing materials for you to use.
• You have an existing self help orientated website / blog, from which you can endorse our albums, our free albums, or our sale generally.
• You have an existing NICHE website relating to one / some of our 200 albums - we have law of attraction albums, confidence, motivation, dating, and much more - just as above you would endorse our albums but with the spin of pointing out the ones which are relavant to your readers (we have a full range of product images to help you, and some articles on our most popular albums - see below for materials links).
• You are experienced in PPC and can setup a quick campaign and drive traffic to us for either subliminal keywords, other self help keywords, or niche focused keywords. We have a full ppc / keywords page to help you.
• If you are experienced in article marketing and can easily / quickly write some articles and drive people in decent numbers to us. Or if you can take our pre-spun articles and post them to generate traffic. * they will not be accepted by EZA, but will work fine on most other article directories.

To summerize; this will work for you if you have the ability to setup a campain to us now and over the next 4 weeks drive consistent traffic to us. It obviously also needs to be "quality" traffic, i.e. from Western countries, from article marketing, existing blogs, email lists, or PPC etc - not from cheap traffic exhanges or unrelated sources basically.

If you are starting to promote now I would recommend highlighting the fact that we offer 3 free albums and in your articles discussing how subliminal messages can help, and that they can "download 3 albums for FREE!" We understand that some people worry about vendors with newsletters, but all I can say is that we will NEVER overwrite your affiliate cookies - all links back to our site are natural links without any hoplink attached. You will get credited for all sales as normal within the 60 day cookie life period. Having your visitors in our newsletter will only lead to a higher conversion for you as all you have to do is get them curious to try our free albums and we do the hard sell - we understand our market very well and we know how to turn leads into buyers.

I am working night and day towards this launch, and I am getting really excited about it - It is without doubt going to be the biggest launch I have ever done and although this post sort of slipped by here un-noticed and this is my reputation at stake I am super confident it is going to work well for all involved.

I now have several more large affiliates confirmed to promote this with approx 430k+ email subscribers between them (I have personally contacted these and recruited them 1 by 1). These are big names in self help and personal development; bloggers, website owners, and other self help related vendors. There will be a really big buzz about this launch on and after June 23rd in personal development circles, and you can benefit from the spillover from this buzz and excitement if you start sending traffic now.

Hi Everyone,

I have been dying to write an update on our launch, but have held back till we got some solid stats in

What Happened:
We “launched” the site on Wednesday morning as planned – changing the prices to $7.48 each. We placed a banner with a countdown timer on, on every page – just so it is really clear there is a limited time sale going on.

You can see the "banner" on every page of our site here: Subliminal Messages - Over 200 Subliminal MP3s. Right now it is displaying the time left in Days, but on Monday it will turn into an hours & minutes countdown.

Over the last few days we have had 30x + more traffic on the site - some big affiliates mailing for us, it has been quite intense and we have been very busy...

The Stats

Average Order Size

Even though our prices are at 50% off we still have our basket system so people can buy multiple albums at once and this pushes the average order value up. Over these 2 days since launch it is $19.46

Conversion Rate

Day 1:
The announcement to our own existing email list converted better than any other email we have ever sent, so we knew that once all the new people got familiar with us by the end of the week conversions would be really solid. Here is a screenshot of our launch announcement email converting at 14.29%!:


However, the conversion rate overall was 0.82%. On this first day the conversion rate overall was lower than normal. With new traffic to us it usually takes a little while to convert – as people receive our free albums, start using them, seeing results, and receiving offers. We were expecting this lower conversion simply due to the amount of volume of completely new visitors we would be getting.

Day 2:
1.52% Conversion Rate. Still a little lower than normal, but our day 2 was nearly as busy as day 1 – still getting a lot of new signups, but people from the first day start to convert now and this brings the conversion rate up slightly.

Future Expectations: I am VERY POSITIVE about the rest of this week. Yesterday (at time of writing it is just getting into Day 3) we sent out a simple email which was basically a long testimonial we received recently.

This email actually did better than I thought, bringing in a really solid 7.78% conversion rate (I have uploaded a slighly modified version of this for affiliate use here - you can enter your clickbank ID and generate a copy with your affiliate ID). Here is a screenshot from my analytics account:


Also, today, everyone who visited and joined our newsletter on the launch day will receive an auto-responder email about the law of attraction and how subliminal messaging can help. This email gets a very good open rate and conversion rate, proven over a long time, so I am expecting conversions to be above normal today – and then for the rest of the week too (this is just one of several emails in our autoresponder which really drive sales for you). Basically as the new visits calm down a little, the people coming back to the site then are visiting for the 2nd, 3rd time etc and they are buyers rather than just browsing.

But on Monday / Tuesday next week we are into the final 2 days of the sale and this will be when things will really start to happen. With the added urgency of this and the emails people will receive to remind them / warn them about the sale ending I am expecting huge conversions.

Triple Conversion Rates Expected During Our 23rd June Summer Sale

I have been advising that affiliates simply recommend our free albums – people can try them and experience subliminal audio risk free. This is a very easy “sell” for you, and this means that we followup your visitors for you – with the types of emails which, as shown above are proven to convert. * We never overwrite your cookies in our autoresponder. You will be credited for all sales made.

The affiliates who did this on launch day are the ones who are now getting a lot more conversions than others basically.

I will send another update in a few days after we have sent our 48 hour warning email out and start to get some accurate stats and predictions for the last day based on from that. A few days ago our “Launch / Sale” ended, and after a couple of days the dust has settled and I have collected stats.

First of all I want to give a big thank you to everyone who was involved – This exceeded our expectations, converting at 6% at it's peak, and raising our gravity from 45 to 90+ in just 1 week!

Conversion Stats:

Below is a breakdown, but I think a quick explanation of our “Formula” is needed first. The whole idea behind this launch was on Day 1 to try and get as many people subscribed to our newsletter as possible. It is proven to convert solidly under normal website conditions anyway as people receive our auto-responders(further info and offers).

During the sale we could send mid week updates, a couple of new testimonials, and “last chance” reminders at 48 hours and 24 hours remaining. (of course fully crediting affiliates for any people they sent into our newsletter). Basically affiliates do a soft pre-sell, i.e. “download 3 free subliminal audio albums here worth $44.91” and we do the real followup and selling.... it worked!

Here is a screenshot of our conversion day by day:


Day 1: Low conversion. Only 0.82 (lower than normal - hope you appreciate the honesty ). This is because we coordinated several big partners all to mail out on this day and had 1000s and 1000s of new visitors to the site. A lot of these people knew nothing about subliminals and were just curious rather than buyers. We received large amounts of signups to the newsletter.

Mid Week: Conversion steadily rose over the next 3 days to over 3% as we sent out a new email with some testimonials and people received our regular offer about our law of attraction albums (one of our best converting emails)

Last 2 Days: Our whole formula culminates in the last 2 days, with conversions rising to 6.09% on the last day. This is largely driven by our newsletter and sending the “sale ending reminders” out. Our 48 hour reminder converted at 11.13% and our 24 hour reminder converted at 22.22%. These are the highest conversion rates I have ever personally seen, and of course this led to a mass of sales for the affiliates who sent people to our free albums signup at the start of the week, and made a lot of sales for new affiliates, and affiliates who had sent traffic during the weeks leading up to this as normal.

p.s. sorry, but I don't feel comfortable sharing sales revenue / profit publically. All I will say is that we had large numbers of visitors to the site and solid conversion, so the revenue / profit was healthy.

Gravity

We never expected to gain so much gravity to be honest. We had 10 key partners involved – large list owners in related niches, and they drove most of the sales.

However a lot converted from our list straight away, and the discount brought out a lot of people who were either on the edge of buying, the price was too much for them, or simply took advantage of the opportunity. This evidently included a lot of visitors who had been sent by various affiliates in the weeks before the launch.

Over the next few days we will be re-vamping our affiliate materials centre, basically adding a lot of new email marketing materials – the emails which our best affiliates sent out.

I had a sale for one item... but have not actively promoted this. I simply put up some banners on a couple of websites (only 1 site has any real traffic). I don't know if it was the last day of the sale (conversion on 30th June), but it was a surprise nonetheless due to not actively promoting it.

My plan was to develop a site where it was focused on a niche where the subliminal mp3s would help. However, I am juggling several things and have not had the time to develop a site yet. I am sure if I had a relevant site with traffic that I would have had several conversions. When I get time, I will look at establishing a site before the next sale

Thanks Norb, I don't think the story is finished yet , and well, what isn't documented is the whole 8 weeks of planning, prep, and intensive recruitment / networking that went on to make it work before this thread even got posted. Thats the real key I think; without the big partners involved it wouldn't of worked nearly as well, and they were all sourced one by one, from personal unique emails, and some selective forum PMs. Probably close to 200 invvites went out, 20 replies, 10 actial partners... a lot of work - was it worth it? Yes, I will do it again even.

Ganceann: Yes, I was surprised you got a sale too actually :P I don't think the sites you have our banners on are well suited - I don't want to say anything more or give your sites away, but they are just totally different niches basically. I do like what you've done with them though, and if you setup something more in self help / subliminal style, then for sure you would make MUCH better sales with us. But obviously you have your focus and 101 things to do, so focus on whatever is your primary of course!

In my honest opinion I actually think you should take our banners down and try sometihng more relevant to your niche... I would mate...

Not many, but part of my focus is selling the majority of sites I have to raise some funds to invest in other sites. The banners were mainly added to show something other than adsense everywhere as I don't have access to many CJ advertisers relevant to those niches.
