From 0 to Position 3...

Position 3 out of 25million....

Hi all - went to check my linktraps this morning and discovered my KW were starting to bubble to the top... This little system is new (with a dash of other bum features)... this little system takes a couple of hours per link to work, this little system will be free to NC members - - right now trying to figure out if it will stick longer than the last set -

So looking at all the tired ways people were attempting to gain traffic - I stepped outside the comfortable box and saw a teeny-tiny window made from a fresh loophole - the first time I pushed my link through it came up but danced away. 2nd attempt - same thing... but left a trail -

3rd attempt (I am retired and bored....) stuck - for now - I dont want to keep everyone in suspense but I also dont want you guys working a KW set for 3 hours only to have it fail - so - going to wait it out a bit to see if attempt 3 was the one = still fine tuning it a bit - kind of working backwards with longer expressions - but... well - check it:



... and this is only one set - I started 18 more and later this week will begin to push each page as well using modified vocabulary on the same sites -

Hey bluffspot (love the site! ), I search my keywords in quotes to see how competitive they are so:
"prison sentence good time"
less than 10k results I know I can rank top 10 for it easy enough
less than 30k requires more time and work
less than 100k I might not bother probably unless it is a MAJOR keyword with a lot of traffic.

The "competition level" for your term of "prison sentence good time" gets only a score of 8 - it should be easy enough to rank for this with just a couple of anchor text backlinks really.. not trying to say your method doesn't work, but you should try and test it with more competitive keywords - the thing with that phrase is that no one else is competing for it so it will be easy to rank for. Just my 0.02c

Yep - I have a list of over 117 KW sets I am ranking for - as well - if you type that in quotes I am in position #1, #2, #3, #6 and #9... the idea is to lock down all 10 positions and not be be bounced or have it danced off the page for any period of time - as well, no regular user trumps up "" when searching - I'll be back to post in 2 weeks with a few dozen other links - some were a bit harder to manuever -but we'll see if I am on target.

Now, we all know there isn't really any "new" style to working how we work. Its just a way we scrape a few ideas here and there to formulate a project... my idea was to remove a few steps but still save the link from getting trampled.

Being able to rank for something is great but looking at the traffic you can expect from that keyword you're looking at 0-1 visits per day at the #1 position. I'd spend my time focusing more on keywords that can provide more volume even if slightly more difficulty to rank for.

Hi KF - the point was to dominate the niche taking over each page for each kw set - I understand what you're driving at but this is a whole different type of positioning - I'll fill you guys in on how its rounding sometime next week.

Interesting thread you have running here.

Here are my observations:
1.) From 0 to 3rd position is never a good thing on a competitive KW. You will Google dance and eventually get sandboxed. But your case is different... this particular kw only has 10 matching case websites, which is fine.
2.) Your domain is 5+ months old. Good.
3.) You moved down from position 3 to 4 - 5. Which is not bad at all, and believe it or not, it's a good thing. This is an indication that you need to build more backlinks, SLOWLY! If you see your domain jumping from page 1 to page 10, you will be sandboxed.

What you should do in this case:
1.) Build your links a little slower, or just don't ping fresh links (if you did 10+).
2.) I would personally target another kw, based off of what Submp3s said.
3.) Don't build links to one permalink/URL, unless it's a "trusted" domain in Google's eyes (basically not your domain... YT, Ezine, articlebase, hubpages, etc. fine).
