WTF @ Digital Point's New Theme?!

As title says, it seems DP has changed their theme and one word comes to mind yuck the text colour annoys me...

Apparantly its the new version of that type of forum so you might be seeing it everywhere soon.. it does have an inbuilt blog feature which is linked to your forum profile, which I think could be really useful - and definitely help expand DP generally

Yeah I saw that and was like WTF? Not a fan of it really but I'm not big on change so It will grow on me.

Hmm.. I don't think the logo looks great - they should hire a professional to do it, it looks like they paid a homeless guy. But... I like the cleanness of it - I think that it will grow on ya - still think DP sucks (shhh), but hey, personal opinion

I dig the new site - agree - the logo needs a few dollars spent on it - but.. maybe the new design will get rid of this guy....

Agree with bluffspot although I do miss the navigation that they used to have.

What on earth do digitalpoint actually do? Are they a profitable business in themselves, or have they just managed to establish a massive forum on all areas of Internet business and make their money from this mostly? Their website homepage looks like it hasn't been updated or moved on since 1993!

It was an Internet company which sold ISP software or something but I think all the money they make now comes from the forum.

When i first went to DP all those years ago (well two) I heard that the forums was just the tip of the iceberg when it came to revenue. However I couldnt tell you how reliable that info was just heard it on the im grapevine

Didn't it go up to market for a bit too? Heard something like 750K-1M and there were stipulations re you could not change the theme, you could not change the ad structure/monetizing, and a bunch of other luda clauses...

Giving it a quick look - i think it's due time and doesn't look so bad! ANYTHING would look better than the way it used to so at least they're stepping up their game a touch... The cookie stuffing ebay shit was a really good read as it was all happening, reading the actual court docs from the legal sites (can find them if you guys want) were quite intuitive re how the law gages/reacts to 'stuff' with online claims.
