Check It Out! Making Bank on Facebook with CPA

Ok guys, this is the old method I used back in September and October to make some serious bank with just e-mail submits and Facebook. If you get creative enough, you can figure out how to incorporate the other types of offers as well.

The first thing you must do is if you use Facebook, start paying attention to the ads you see on the right-hand side. Also, notice the little link below it that says "More Ads"

The More Ads link is going to be your friend. With Facebook, you can assume that 90% of the affiliate ads that you see for more than 3 or 4 days are profiting.

So, what I do is I check the ad board every day. I take note of the CPA ads. Are there e-mail submits? zip submits? game offers? dating? weight loss? It can vary greatly depending on what information you place in your profile. Facebook ads can be ultra targeted so keep this in mind.

If you want to get serious, you can be crazy like me and have 15 different accounts with different ages, sex, interests, and locations throughout the world just to take a peak at what ads people are running throughout the world.

One such ad that I've noticed lately, and is a great example, is a zip submit for Southwest Airlines. "Fly Southwest Free" it says. I know this guy is profiting because I used to run the same exact type of campaigns. All you have to do is target people in the U.S. with this type of offer and you will get conversions guaranteed, especially if it's a zip submit.

The Picture: Without a doubt, the most important part of your ads. I used to produce 100 ads at a time with different pictures and the same text to see with picture gave me the best CTR. I would have pictures with a .01% and others with a .8%. Clearly, the picture is most important ESPECIALLY with dating.

**I don't recommend getting into dating at first since it can be really expensive (60 cent clicks) and hard to convert if you don't know how to write good facebook ads.

The Headline: Must be catchy. Something that draws the eye. Be creative, do what works for you on other PPC platforms.

Some examples: The most profitable offers that I've had good success with are offers that can be targeted pretty well. I've had success with laptops and iphones, but not nearly as successful as a Twilight offer or video game. Keep this in mind.

I ran an e-mail submit that was for a free Halo: ODST game. The offer came out about 2 weeks before the release of the game. I keyword targeted xbox, xbox 360, halo, and some other related keywords. This one ad yielded me over $100 a day in profit with a 300% ROI.

Another ad I did well on was a free True Blood season 2 dvd package e-mail submit. This is a TV show that can easily be keyword targeted. I ran this offer for over 3 weeks and profited around $70 per day.

Both of these offers could have yielded me thousands of more dollars per day if I scaled up. However, I was short on funds and could only afford a $50 spend per day. CPA networks like to pay out once per month, so if you're on a budget, you gotta watch your spending.

Now, I could go on and on with the various offers that I've done, but that's not the point. The point is that these offers do exist and are a lot easier to make money on than you think. You just have to be smart with your bidding.

Bidding: For e-mail submits, you have got to do CPM bidding. Do not do CPC unless you're the CTR master. CPM bidding is great. Just start low around 20 cents and increase it by 1 cent increments until you have traffic and clicks.

Let your ad run for around 10,000 impressions. If your CTR is less than .1%, you have a crappy ad and you need to replace the picture and possibly text/headline. But it's usually just a picture problem.

For headlines, you can use FREE capitalized. Take advantage of that. "FREE Southwest Tickets!"

If you have the budget, get about 20+ pictures, make 20 ads, let them all run to about 10k impressions. Scrap all the ads below .10% CTR, keep the ones above. Get 20 more pictures, and keep going. Get around 20+ ads doing .10% CTR and above.

With 20+ ads running at .10% CTR, you will be making bank. You won't suffer from banner blindness, you'll be getting clicks, and you'll be profiting big. My friend has made around 20k this month just on e-mail submits. You can guarantee that when I start making money with my SEO that I'll be doing facebook again.

My only question: am I correct that you do all this directlinking to the offer?

    ^^ Ditto.

And what CPA network do you typically use?

I'm just getting into CPA and I'm not familiar with the networks yet. Just have accounts with CJ and Neverblue at the moment.

To be honest, the best e-mail submits are from LFMnetwork. The only problem is that they pay on Net15 so you have to wait a little bit to get paid (unless you're doing $1000+ per week then you get weekly payments.)

I also like EWA because they pay weekly no matter the amount of money you make.

I only direct-linked, but I'm sure you could set up a lander with an opt-in and have the thank you page be the CPA offer with the e-mail address filled in already. I forgot the command to do this but it can be very effective indeed.

Neverblue is fine to use as well. I like that CPA network.

Your AMs are retarded. What network told you that? Because I know all of the big ones encourage us to run submits on facebook. Don't send crappy traffic ( ie people under 21) and you'll be fine.

I'm with NeveBlue as well. Just talked to the account manager yesterday about Facebook. He told me it was fine to run ads for it, you just can't promote it through statuses. That's what I was told.

Guys, there's hundreds of CPA networks so don't just rely on 1. In fact, the best thing you can do is find the same offer on 5 different networks and rotate it. You'll be able to see which network is converting best for that offer.

I know that almost every network out there has the same grocery card zip submit.

And I don't recommend Maxbounty for e-mail submits. They have always scrubbed pretty hard from my experience. Stick to LFM network or EWA or neverblue for now.

How much a of a stickler is Facebook on pictures? I used their platform right after it was released and it was a nightmare getting ads approved. Usually it was because of the picture. Also, are their ad approval times any better now? Last batch of ads I ran (several months ago) took days before they were reviewed.

I set up a few different ads on Facebook a week or two ago and they were reviewed and approved within a few hours. Maybe 6 at most.

I have spent about 3-4 weeks now getting VERY aggressive with Facebook and I think that there is a lot to be said about what niche you are promoting. I for one am trying to promote Business Opportunity which is a very difficult marketing but does offer a lot of Name/ EMail submits. Most of my affiliates are also having a lot of success with facebook in other niches. I think the information up top is great!
I'd like to add something to this for those who don't have a lot of time/ money to use testing for perfection, do as much research into your OWN facebook as you can as the most important part of getting started is understanding your market. Choose ads that capture your attention (like mentioned above) and look into your Interests, this should give you an idea as to some of the keywords you can use that will probably work.
Overall, I'm a BIG fan of Facebook so far, if choosing good keywords I've gotten leads for as little as .85.

Tried for myself. The results are very disappointing, received around 70k impressions witch generated 8 clicks - yes 8 clicks. Average CTR was 0.011, for 10 EURO total campaign spend - 3 different ad variations. What are your thoughts?

You don't give any info on the campaign, but try this.

Other people get it to work, and you don't...

By this post it seems that you question the whole concept of facebook advertising on a 10 bucks test. Shouldn't you rather question/test your own skills/campaign/niche/creative etc?

Obviously everyone's experience will be different. Each campaign has it's own set of variables that are unique, thus you can't really try to sequence a perfect path to profit, you can only be creative with what's at your fingertips. Can't blame facebook or say it doesn't work though, I know folks KILLING IT on FB, POF, ADBRITE and a bunch of other social + second tier networks.

It takes, trying, trying, trying, testing, testing, testing.

There are people who bank six figures monhtly with facebook. Like yourself, I've been getting into the facebook ads with limited success. But as you continue working and building campaigns, you gain more experience, and get better at it. You'd have to be really lucky to hit it of the first time.

The same thing goes for PPC. Many people are quick to state that it's almost impossible to make money at it.
It took me about 8 months of consistent working with PPC, numerous failed campaigns, and continuous work to start to seeing some respectable results with PPC. In most cases, you don't hit it the first time. It takes tens or hundreds of tries to get it right. By then, you'll gain a lot of knowledge and experience and it will be much easier from that point. Key is persistence and not giving up

I no longer use Facebook ads because it is honestly an entirely different beast than what it was last year when I was using it. I know plenty of people that have abandoned it because of how strict they have gotten.

But here's a campaign I want someone to try because I never got the chance to run it on Facebook and I don't plan on doing it anytime soon.

Grab an education offer, like the criminal justice or something. Copy parts of the landing page and build your own landing page making it appear to being very similar to the offer in regards of look and feel.

What you're going to do is collect the users e-mail address so that you can further market this person other education offers over the next few weeks. When they subscribe, instead of sending them to the basic aWeber thank you page, send them straight to the actual cpa offer.

I'm thinking that with this method, you will be able to collect emails and get conversions as well. Sure beats direct-linking in my opinion and I wish I would have been doing this. Give it a try, let me know how it goes.

Think outside the box and try this with other niches as well.

Thank you for the last 3 comments. I have to say that I am pretty disappointed so far with my campaigns. Haven't spent too much just around 120 euros, no leads at all but worse than all I haven't learned anything at all. Besides the fact that I got a 2.00 EURO cpc witch is huge comparing to what I experienced in other networks so far, targeting a very small audience just around 700k people on facebook I experience daily budget run out in minutes. Is this normal?

also one tip for facebook campaigns.

put a border around your picture, something that will make it stand out. Normally orange is a good colour.

This will increase your CTR, therefore lowering your bid

I've never tried an orange border, that's something I'll have to test for sure on PoF.

You are right, nothing wrong with posting campaign results. I thought you were questioning the OP or the method as a whole. Looking back I can see that you didn't really. My bad.

"experienced marketers" well who ever be the judge, 2 years of making good money.. I don't really care about how long someone has been reading ebooks and forum posts. It's a game, for sure, but we measure e-penis in cash right? :P

"My budget is very flexible" I take it/assume you make good cash too, so good for you. Sorry for the misinterpret then.

No worries, I am only 2 or 3 years experienced, and only haunting this single forum, and not a lot even. Never called myself experienced explicitly (because I am always learning). A lot to do, no time for hassle besides.

FB really banned e-mail/zip submits it seems as well as rebills, games which requires downloads, mobile without rules, make it hard for edu. Keypoint is to cloak right just like with adwords

Seriously ? You are lucky then, no ? Cause if you read their guidelines it's against the rules. Are you directlinking to it ?

Course' they are. Don't listen to all the crap some people stated on the forum .

You are allowed to promote email/zip submits without having any issues, it's just that it takes a little time to find a great offer that converts. And particularly choosing the niche is the most important and a proper targeted audience.

Where do you guys source photos/pictures for these types of ads? Is it just a matter of finding some kind of stock photo provider via google, or rip them off a site dealing with a similar subject?
