Banned by DP - WTF!!

I have apparently been banned from DP, the stupid thing is they say visit this thread to find out why, but I can't view it as I am banned!

I went in via a proxy site and found out that apparently they issued some new rules about 2 months ago that we were suppose to go and find. Seriously, why not just frigging email all members telling them about the new rules.

Anyways, the result is hundreds have been banned at all levels, one guy with over 6000 posts has just been banned for a week!

If you read the post above, it is hilarious as loads of people are saying "great idea", "well done" etc and then you notice they have been banned too!

Anyone else here banned?

This is not going to go down well with a hell of a lot of people, it seems very heavy handed and without any warning.

I am concerned that I have bought some sig links from people who now may be banned, I am losing out all over the place.

Wow, a full scale ban attack - even notice a guy with 15K thanking the op but he's banned too lol! Never seen this before and also can't believe how many posts some people have on DP - crazy!

I wouldn't fret too much, it looks like a 7 day ban only - and DP is losing respect all over the place, mainly for having this problem in the first place and waiting until it got out of hand to do anything about it - I promise you guys that if anyone does any PM ME crap here they will be banned in a snap too... everyone here seems to know better though.

Do you remember what you did? It seems like they don't even know how to set the rules "Do not do the PM ME thing" but then it states "If the person asked you to PM but you posted instead, you're getting banned" >>? Fubar and I imagine right now you can get anyone banned for simply having a PM ME thread or for responding to one by posting... hmm getting ideas... will be back - I'm off to get a few people I don't like there banned :P Just kidding, but I can see how a lot of people are going to get restless about this - especially when they have investments/hot threads there...

Don't worry about it... it looks like it is a 7 day ban for you but that should give you a full week to dedicate yourself to increasing your marketing for affiliate products

If you are annoyed of all the "I'm interested," "PM me the details," "Sold," "Give me the money," posts then I encourage you to report them all.

If you are here because you are banned then go read all stickies in the BST forum before you come back. Most likely you posted "PM me" "PM sent" "Details please" or just didnt follow the instructions of the thread. Like the OP asks you to PM with offers and you posted instead.

DP just eats up time. You will have been guilty of breaking one of the following rules:

Changes to the BST - Read or Receive Infractions
Some changes were made in the BST with the attempt to reduce useless posts along with bumping of threads, and to avoid affiliate links being sent via PM.

Affiliate Links in PMs

You MAY NOT post threads to promote affiliate programs via PM.

Masking an affiliate link via PM or otherwise is still subject to an infraction.

Trying to get around the 'no affiliate links in PMs' rule by instead linking to your own landing pages is still not allowed. That is still posting a thread to promote an affiliate program via PM!

Making People Bump Your Threads for More Information

You may not ASK for people to bump your thread by telling them to post things like, "I'm interested," "PM me the details," "Sold," "Give me the money," or other similar terms. (This includes things like asking "Who's interested?" knowing you'll get a bunch of bump posts, unless you specifically give instructions to PM you directly instead of posting in the thread.)

You MAY NOT refuse to receive PMs if you're not offering all product / service / offer details directly in your thread. If you don't want to give the details in the thread then you HAVE to accept PM's. - Note: This includes asking everyone to post their rates. I think I must have posted a "PM sent" to be honest, but I had no idea the rules have changed.

I really think they should have sent an email advising of the changes, this is why everyone carried on doing it because it was accepted practice until very recently.

I have become rather pissed off recently when I have posted in a thread about being interested in something and then I get loads of PMs from people offering similar instead of the OP.

I am more worried about the loss of hits, I get a fair bit of traffic from the Sig Links on my profile and on others.

P.S. I have two major projects, one $102m and one $84m that I am supposed to be managing! Why am I worried about DP?

You shouldn't be worried about them honestly. They are too big for their own britches. Over at BHW they are made fun of consistently and are now a slang word for gay. Shoot, lots of people make fun of DP and WF over there and make lots of money because their members are mostly stupid. The smart ones find forums like this or BHW to spend all their time at. The even smarter ones don't spend all their time on forums anymore and are working on IM instead
