Vohooo ... i have officially signed down the papers and Oct 8 will be my last day.
My Journey :
3 yrs before at my 21- a freshman out of college computer student who was so happy after landing a job with Oracxe. And now I am happier leaving that job to do IM(something I like).
pre Jan 2008 :
I was a regular software engineer happy with what I am doing and what I am getting.
Jan 2008 : Read about IM somewhere and decided to try out. I decided to try with $100 of my hard earned money.Bought hosting, bought domains - my websites are still alive but does not make me anything.
Tried PPC with direct linking - burnt some $50.
Lesson learnt : Dont do anything before learning basics.
Feb 2008 :
I decided to come up with a landing page and I choosed a review style landing page and designed some cartoons to presell the product. Used PPC for traffic and got good conversions. I must say I was lucky.
I earned $1000 in my first month - net profit.
March - July 2008 :
Tried different products, made ends meet. But never got much profits. But I had converting kwds, ads and landing pages.
August - Nov 2008 :
Tried offers from different networks, none of them worked. Took very little to no profits.
Lesson Learnt : Focus and never give up. Picked up some time management.
Nov 08 - April 2009 :
Things really started working. I saw $500+ days in net profit. Learnt a lot. Made new friends. New partners.
Important lesson learnt : I was spending $100 in PPC on one campaign and I get 3-5 conversions for that product from a review page. I changed nothing but moved product at 2 to product at 1 to test out. Here product 1 had a higher gravity and I assumed it converts better. But to my surprise, the day I switched the products and tested, the product 2 with a lesser gravity converted way better than first product and it pulled in 10-20 sales / day with the same advertising cost. I am stressing here, higher gravity does not mean, it will be best for you.
May 2009 :
A month break at Himalayas and when I come back, a lot has changed.
Lesson learnt : To live on the edge being in IM.
Became a vendor and released my first product. Found new friends and partners.
June 2009 :
All my domains were slapped and QS went to down to 1 from 10. Affiliate earnings stopped to Nil.
I was also struggling finding new affiliates. It was a new game.
I partnered up with some people for few products and work started. Gravity for my first product reached 10.
July - Sep 2009 :
with new affiliates, i could push so much sales. I had the same product in plimus as well as clickbank and both were bringing in constant sales. Joined NC and gpt some really cool friends, partners and some good deals as well. Increased net profits by 40%. New products launched, tweaked and set on to sell on auto pilot.
Also revamped my affiliate campaigns as I already had the converting keywords. Results are good. I am at $50/ day as an affiliate. I will soon start all my campaigns and work is going on.
I am still learning and there is always something new to do everyday. This is what I like the most about this.
I decided I no more want my job and lost interest.
Just thought it will be a good read.
Namaste
Vin
Note : Now I have more time and I am trying not to waste time.
