Hi guys,
As you know, we decided to bring the Phantom over to Click2Sell to see how their platform works compared to CB and PDC...
In doing so, I had to get in touch with the owners of C2S in order to find out about 'First cookie served' issues and a few other kinks... You know if this email went to CB they would answer it briefly, and not be personable. So I was expecting pretty much the same with C2S - HOWEVER: I'm quite fond of the way the owners operate, very good with networking and listening to those that comment on their system. Believe it or not I've managed to actually get them to listen to almost every single concern of mine, AND do something about it. > Like now their whole system is Last Cookie Served, They have listened to me re moving the affiliate name on the intermediary page to the bottom and made in light colored so it's not so obvious... like wow - they actually listened!!
So I decided to create a C2S section, I'm going to invite the owners/staff here as well as the publishers so we can all partake in the promo's, and help these guys shape their system to do what it should and maximize everyone's participation with them... Here is some correspondance between NC and C2S.
Me:
Greetings, I'm an affiliate and a publisher. Most of my products (over 30) are with clickbank. I just helped an associate setup a new account here as a publisher (fxphantom) to test out your platform for volume sales and how your system performs compared to clickbank. Here are a few questions and some general feedback for you to consider:
1. Great job over all on the interface and the commission per affiliate capabilities, as well as the internal communication capabilities among affiliates and customers - brilliant actually!
2. I am guiding a large volume of affiliates for my slate of products on top of the phantom (most products can be found at http://www.nichechoppers.com/niche-products.html - I have xxxx affiliates), and they brought up an interesting question. It seems that your operate on a 'frist cookie served' system? Once someone is cookied, the next affiliate cannot overwrite their hoplink/cookie? Is there a way to in fact overwrite another affiliates cookie? Most networks operate on a 'last cookie served' gets the sale... This is for many reasons - one of which is important: If I have contacts to HUGE email list owners, I can literally blanket the web and emails with my C2S cookies (even stuff it if I want) pretty easily. This gains the system easily as many other affiliates will promote the product after me and I will get the sale for their efforts...
As a merchant: You should have a simple spot to add a link to a merchants aff page and make it a live link i.e. http://www.forexphantom.com/affiliates.html should be prominent in the description of products, it would help affiliates quicker and most won't upload their assets to the system making your library look half empty... Some food for thought, your response to the overwriting capabilities would be greatly appreciated. Within a few weeks time we should see if this is a good platform to integrate more of our products into... Thank you for your time and good luck with this venture. Norb Czufis.

response:
Dear Norb,
Thank you very much for contacting us and giving your great feedback. Now I would like to answer all your questions and explain how Click2Sell.EU system works, moreover I would like to pinpoint some things in our system to get more benefits for your business.
First of all, welcome on Click2Sell.EU. We are glad to have such product as Forex Phantom here on our Marketplace. This is a great product for all affiliates to promote and I'm very glad that you did a great job providing all the materials for affiliates - your page for affiliates is brilliant. We are glad to have you as a merchant on Click2Sell.EU and we hope that our system will bring a lot of benefits for you.
Thank you very much for your kind words about Click2Sell.EU system's interface. Your words really motivate us to work even harder to satisfy all your needs. Norb, we are here to listen to your needs, so if you have any suggestions, thoughts or anything else that comes to your mind, you are welcome to share with us. In case you have some special requests - let us know and we will do our best to implement them and suit your needs.
Regarding affiliate cookies: it's very interesting that affiliates do notice this. Yes, our cookie system works on a 1st-affiliate-link rule. This means that if a customer is referred by one affiliate, but doesn't order a product, then the same customer visits another affiliates link and now he/she orders the product, the first affiliate gets a credit. The main thought of such cookie working mechanism was to prevent affiliate cookie stuffing and other manipulation by unfair affiliates. It is really interesting that your affiliates do bring such question about the cookie working mechanism. We did some testings and tested how many customers enter the 1st and then 2nd affiliate link and order the product. Our test results has shown that there are maybe 1-2 sales out of 1000 when customer visits the first affiliate link, then second affiliate link and orders the product. These cases are quite rare, however, I see that some affiliates might be concerned about this. Currently we are working on a completely new Click2Sell.EU system that will completely automate all affiliate payments for you and we are also working on the cookie tracking mechanism. If you want, we can make our system to work on a the last affiliate cookie rule. We expect to have a completely upgraded system running within a comming 2 months.
I hope this helps. Norb, if you have any questions or just need some help, please, let me know. I will do my best to help you. We look forward to seeing more of your great products on Click2Sell.EU. If some otherIf you have any suggestions for us, please, let us know. We will work with you one on one to adjust the system suit your business needs - just let us know your thoughts.
Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you!
Sincerely,
Egidijus Andreika

Egidijus,
Thanks for the response and attention.
I'll be brief in this email.
1. In my opinion you MUST change your platform to 'last cookie served'. I and many others feel that that is the reason people choose clickbank or paydotcom over C2S. I was not aware of this issue until it was too late actually- If there is a way to switch this per account at this time - I would greatly appreciate if you could enable the fxphantom account with last cookie served capabilities. Further, I think if you did a test for a month, and did a blast/public announcement about it - you'd attract a LOT of affiliates that wouldn't be scared to promote stuff to people that are already cookied. This phantom soft launch had a few list owners, and I myself usually see more conversions on the blasts but because ****** sent his out first, he got a majority of the sales even when my clicks are the ones that went through (I can see this in my logs...). All other networks rely on last cookie served, and trust me you're missing out on MANY super affiliates that won't touch this place just because of that rule. They spend 10-30K a day with google sometimes, and this would be considered a huge leak, or they would easily game the system and no other affiliate would stand a chance in niche markets like forex or mmo...
2. I am both a publisher with my own exclusive products, and have shared products, and do consulting however most of them are my own. Even the phantom, it was a part of a network of 5 sites that we sold, and the new owners had this launch as a bonus during the sale...
3. I look after a forum where there are currently 2500+ top CB affiliates and publisher like myself, some of which are now testing the C2S platform (please see - http://forums.nichechoppers.com/hot-...html#post25835 ). If you'd like, maybe we can setup a C2S section in there for you and your top publishers like we have for the clickbankers.
4. Thanks for the heads up about paypal PRO...
5. When someone clicks on the buy now button - it has a intermediary page 'loading' with the affiliates name above it. Perhaps it doesn't matter in most product situations, however I think this is hurting conversions for you guys as well. I would recommend moving that affiliate notification to the bottom of the page and making it grey so it's not so in your face. Customers have no need in seeing it, in fact it may deter them from buying, and the affiliate will know to look on the bottom (after updating everyone..) for their ID to quantify testing. Also - on the checkout page - can you not customize it or put things into frames so it's a custom C2S checkout? like clickbank? This way you can allow merchants to brand those pages with an image/logo and help with continuity and conversions...
6. My newest program is WorkStation Optimizer - NEW - Clean & Optimize Your PC! Remove ALL adware, spyware, malware, trojans, keyloggers, fix registry files & more. - This relies on post/get functions, a secret key, and works in tandem with licensing the product per computer/serial number... Do you guys have these same capabilities?
7. If you look at the affiliate page for the program above you'll see we have an advanced hoplink system (so we can enable affiliates to send traffic/hops to different sales pages etc. - WorkStation Optimizer Affiliate Program << Scroll down, you'll see 10 different sales pages they can use). do you have these capabilities? Further down the page you'll also see automatic google/yahoo conversion analytics integration - do you have these capabilites?
Sorry to bombard you with all of this, however I think if you took some of my advice and or let me work with you guys I could help your whole business convert more. Once you guys have some of the above sorted, I would be happy to bring a few more programs over and continue testing with bigger volumes.
Best regards and I look forward to hearing back from you again.
Norb.

Hi Norb,
Thank you for such detailed letter. We really like merchants who tend to cooperate and work together to have all their needs satisfied. I can tell you that as long as you are willing to work together, tell us all your thoughts, feedback about Click2Sell.EU system, everything, we will do everything it takes to have our system suitable for your products. Now, the letter is pretty big, so take a cup of coffee and read
Now I will go through all your points and answer them one by one:
1. I see your point regarding the 'last cookie served' thing. Today we have discussed with our team the possibilities and we think you are right. We have heard such requests earlier, but without much real arguments why such model should be implemented. Now your thoughts proved us to implement such kind of tracking for affiliate links. So today our developers jumped working on this feature and I can proudly tell you that we have implemented the 'last cookie served' model. From now on all affiliate sales will be credited to the last affiliate referring a customer - just like you wanted
You can test this out this scenario: visit one affiliate link for your product then visit an another affiliate link. You will see that 2nd affiliate's name is shown on the checkout.
Norb, please, check and let me know what you think.
2. I see that you have a great business running and great community of quality merchants and affiliates. We are eager to work with all you guys together to make Click2Sell.EU system ideal for your business. We can adjust it to your needs, just cooperate and tell your thoughts then we all will discuss the possibilities and work together to make everything working as you like.
3. I see you have a great community of affiliates promoting your products. It would be pleasure for us to have a Click2Sell sub-section in your forum. There your affiliates, merchants and all other members would be able to post their questions about Click2Sell.EU, request new features or simply share their thoughts. We would be participating in a forum every day. We would also announce the new implemented features, fullfilled members requests and other information. This way all your members could share their thoughts, feedback and comments about Click2Sell.EU and we would do our best to solve all their issues and answer questions. We would also announce all Click2Sell.EU news. The thing is that there are major developments going on our system. The current system will only make around 30% of the new comming system. I mean, there are very huge changes coming on Click2Sell.EU to make our system even better for merchants and affiliates.
4. It's so strange that many merchants simply don't see that Click2Sell.EU supports not only Paypal, but many other payment gateways to process credit cards directly on Click2Sell.EU checkout page. We recommend all merchants to set up such an account and then they will be able to accept credit cards in addition to Paypal. This will definitely increase the conversion rates.
I read in the forum that some of the members are very quite surprised that products on Click2Sell.EU marketplace shows so low conversion rates. The thing is that those figures are not accurate and we will be working on adjusting them. The thing is that for i.e. if one affiliate signs up to promote a product and then brings i.e. 10000 'guaranteed robot traffic' to an affiliate link, the product's conversion rate drops because the robots aren't buying real products. This is inaccurate, so soon we'll remove that conversion percentage for some time from the Marketplace and bring it only when we have it adjusted to display a 'quality traffic conversion rate'.
5. Thank you for your suggestion. We also had this in our to-do list, but actually nobody really complained us about the affiliate name's placement, so we were not rushing to that to the bottom. Now we have implemented the affiliate's name to be shown on the bottom of the page + in a 'lighter' color, so that only affiliates would be able to notice that.
Regarding the modification of product's checkout page: you can easily modify the product's checkout form on Click2Sell.EU. Simply just visit For Merchant --> My Products --> Edit Settings (click on your a certain product's menu) --> Customize product pages --> Checkout
There you will be able to add your logos, images, etc. Note: if you are adding an image from the outside location, make sure the image url is with https:// otherwise browsers such as Internet Explorer will give warnings on the checkout page that there are some unsecure elements on a page. You can put some text, images, etc on the checkout page and modify it to your needs. You can even translate your checkout page to another language for customers.
Moreover, at the bottom of that Checkout modification page there's a way to modify a purchase confirmation e-mail that is sent to each customer after the successful purchase. You can modify it to your needs, add some additional information and instructions.
6. I checked your Workstation Optimizer and see that it's a great product. Yes, we have all the facilities to process transactions for such products. We have developed our own API that sends all the information instantly to a remote urls/scripts/locations. We can send all transaction information, secret keys md-hashed with transaction ID for you to check, etc. You can read all the information about Click2Sell.EU API on our blog: Improve sales management with Click2Sell API! | Official Click2Sell Blog
This article contains all information required for developers to connect Click2Sell.EU with remote scripts and accept payment notifications.
In order to enable the API posting settings to your scripts and configure all posting urls, visit: For Merchant --> My Products --> Edit Settings --> API Settings
Each product can have it's own separate API channel posting data to a specified url.
Moreover, Click2Sell.EU also posts the transaction ID and customer's e-mail address via http-post method to the thank-you page, so if your thank-you page is capable of accepting these notifications our system can also post that data straight to a thank you page.
7. Right now there is no feature in Click2Sell system which would do exactly what you want with various sales-pages. However, I think that something similar could be achieved by implementing subid tracking which we intend to develop in near future. So, let's say we create subids supported and then affiliates could attach something to their affiliate links:
Click2Sell Affiliate Marketing Network - Innovative Affiliate Network Online! (just for example).
Then you could set redirection page as your product's sales-page which would "listen" to subids and then act according to subids values. Would it be suitable for you?
Norb, please, share your thoughts and requirements on this and let's discuss it. Maybe you have your own suggestions or special requirements how it should work? Please, tell us everything and then we'll see how to implement that.
Regarding analytics. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that analytics system in your website is completely separate from Clickbank? I mean you can use whatever system you want (Click2Sell, Clickbank, etc.), but Analytics will still work just fine?
If you didn't see, our system tracks a lot of information (far more than clickbank) itself. There is an illustrated blog post about statistics in our system taht affiliates can analyze:
Complete overview of main affiliate tools and statistics in Click2Sell.EU | Official Click2Sell Blog
We can track keywords on Adwords, Y! Search marketing campaigns, keywords on search engines, referring websites, etc.
If you have any special 3rd party script tracking codes, we can place them on your product's checkout page. This way you will be able to track everything.
Thank you, Norb, for your comments, thoughts and all the feedback. We are here eager to work with you to make Click2Sell.EU system suit your business needs. With your help we'll be able to build a great system for both merchants and affiliates. Let me know your thoughts and other questions. I will do my best to help you.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Have a nice day.
Sincerely,
Egidijus Andreika
