Hey Linus! Better late than never right?!

I look forward to your contribution and discussion here - but I must warn you now - this is nothing like DP and I WILL NOT let it get to what DP is (meaning full of babies, arguments, rants, bulls*i*)... Though I think you'll like that

If you can, please take 2 min and welcome a few people before or after your welcome thread to help me build community spirit.

    Thanks Linus, chat soon.

I have seen you around DP forums... and I think it might be useful if people can find their old posts on DP forums that were useful for affiliate marketing (and still relevant to today), and simply make the same post here or an updated version of the post as this forum is more focussed.

That's an amazing idea for anyone involved with DP or other forums. Though please try to update it if you know the info is out of date or you have tactics to add.

Really trying to make this a one stop marketing crash course and inspiration hub for the real marketers and business men within our circles...

    Cheers for the idea, repped.

Well... that is what I am about... ideas, ideas, ideas and more ideas.

My biggest problem is that I fail to turn my ideas into income generating actions or miss finding the right angle of approach or simply don't have the finance to get any big ideas up and running.

I procrastinate, analyze and research... but if I had managed to actually carry out just 1% of my ideas I would be quite wealthy. Naturally, I am talking about other ideas rather than gathering resources together on this forum... but it is the same principle and path that is normally followed:

    1. I have an idea
    2. I research and read up about the idea
    3. I might register a domain name, start an initial website and then leave it on the backburner

    or

I realise the costs involved are beyond my current capabilities and I then either share the idea with people or just drop it.

A lot of ideas I have had over the last 16+ years are nothing radical or different from things that exist today... but when I had the ideas, they could have been applied to various successful ventures.

One example, at high school, for a competition I had to come up with an idea aimed at increasing trade within the EU. I done my project basing it on a popular magazine Exchange and Mart where people could list things they had for sale where each item listed would cost 1% of the selling fee. - without dragging out the story, I finished 2nd in the competition and was told that my idea was not feasible as technology didn't exist that would be able to do this type of project... about 2-3 years later eBay was created (I am not saying my idea was used lol - but their idea was using the same technology that my idea had discussed).

Another simple example was when I said to a friend back in 2001, I would just love to make a one-page website where people would come to visit it to look at the ads... I didn't have any angle and my friend laughed saying people wouldn't ever come to a website to look at just the ads (hint hint: million dollar webpage idea)

If I wanted to, I could evaluate many of my ideas and find a website today that used the idea... but with their own thinking, their own angle and maybe with different objectives. Hindsight is wonderful and as my ideas are normally generic, can be applied to several different instances... I have valid ideas that could be associated with vertical search, adsense, clickbank and linkedin etc... I just never acted on the ideas or was unable to develop the ideas enough to seek funding.

    :P

The key to success in anything is action, action and more action. Read into it some more, take MASSIVE ACTION. Less forum reading, more action.
