This was originally a very old campaign that I completely abandoned...
I used one of the E4E templates, but designed my own graphic for the top (takes like 5 minutes) and changed around some stuff to make it a grey/red theme over a green theme. I also used Lemonarian's secret link thing, works like a charm.
I focused on article marketing, pretty much. It takes me 10 minutes to rewrite an article that I have memorized. My keyword process involved Market Samurai:
1. Base keyword was pulled from the product name itself, I just generated a bunch of keyword ideas. I also used various related keywords to generate more ideas. 3 word minimum for all keywords.
2. Used the Total Traffic and SEO Competition columns. I deleted all keywords with >10,000 competing results with quotes, as well as all keywords with <10 searches.
3. Organize from greatest to least traffic, just picked a single one and went straight to the article.
For the resource box, I made no mention that I was going to review it, just made it seem like I owned the actual product. Eh, might not be the best way to go, but it worked for me.
Then, I used a traffic exchange to throw 90 hits at the ezinepublisher link, which got me to second place in my category for most published. I don't know if this exact article benefited from it, but another article of mine actually ranked for the term "jumping higher", ranked as high as 4th w/o quotes even when I don't even target the keyword and just threw 300 hits at the ezinepublisher link.
The article doesn't have the nice CTR that I really wanted. 25% right now, with 27 clicks on the link. Through that came 24 hops and 3 sales...
