Introduction Posts Newbie Here & Need Lots Of Help!!

    Hey Everyone,
My name is Greg and I will turn 51 in just a couple of days. I am a federal firefighter for 32 yrs. now and retiring the 1st of June.
I have been trying to break into IM for about 2 yrs. now without any success. I have spent a ton of money (In the thousands of dollars) persuing the dream of creating a profitable online business. Some of my most recent purchases besides this Copy & Profit, Adwords Manifesto, Project Payday, Maverick Money Makers, Do You Suck At Making Money, Super Speed Wealth, Huey Lee No Monkey Business and the list goes even further but you get the idea.
I have obtained a lot of knowledge from all these different programs but haven't been able to put a whole package together to make any money, that's why I am here, to learn from the best.
I would like as much mentoring as I can get to put together a plan that will help me grow an IM businees tha t will suppliment my fire dept. retirement income. My goal right now is to be making at least a $1,000 a month by the end of 2009.
I am off work for the next 5 days and plan on putting all my time and effort into this forum taking in all the suggestions and help I can get here. If there is any one out there that is willing to take a newbie under their wing and guide them through this whole IM maze I'm your man!
Thanks ahead of time for any and all suggestions you may have and I am looking forward to working with and eventually help people here.
    Respectfully,
    Greg

    Hi Greg,

I would like to say hi and tell you that I basically am in the same boat, I am very new at this forum thing and just got in here yesterday with the Copy-N-Proft program as well, also have some additional commonality with some of your other purchases like MMM.

I am planning on dropping the membership on that one this month.

Currently I am studying PPC marketing and will start on a campaign shortly using the direct marketing technique, (no website). I tried adwords some time ago but I had absolutely no idea what I was doing and of course lost my shirt. Hopefully this time around armed with more knowledge and some help from knowledgable people I, we, will be more successful.

    Nice talking at you ,

    Welcome Greg.

Both you and flycatcher likely have all the knowledge at your fingertips that you need. With having bought so many products already you could create your own information resource. There are likely several strategies available in all those products and if it was me, I would look at setting out those strategies and then deciding which one to follow.

Making a list with some notes (pros/cons) of each strategy can help you decide which to focus on fully. An important part of any strategy is how traffic is generated... so making your own resource compilation of how traffic is generated in all the strategies will give you plenty of information on how to generate traffic when following any strategy.

A key component will also be ongoing costs. If a few of the products are costing a monthly subscription and you are not making any use of them at all, it may be better to drop them at this stage if you have no immediate plans for them. The main thing is that you figure out which strategy you feel comfortable following that is cost-effective and can deliver a decent return for the time invested implementing it.

Welcome guys - need to stress keeping your people informed and your pages fresh - I understand there are some with PPC (paypercrack) but I ask that you look at the amount of PPC$ you are willing to spend - then take a look at the same amount of money in having good articles written for the programme you want to promote. PPC dies off at the end of the billing cycle and chasing that dragon can be wallet busting - informational pieces on the other hand stays around forever...

Get and stay on course with a couple of programmes at first and stay with those winners. NC has some good apps you may want to look through. As for having articles written, there are a few places online you can have them done for a couple of dolllars each 500 - 700 words. Making them sticky and doing the math on them is a cinch and spending a few minutes on them prior to posting is ideal.

I then suggest hiring some offshore folk to blog and post for you (your content) - I am starting to work into my curriculum now, please don't mind me - but I digress...

What I am trying to say is do your due diligence on a programme (look through the NC apps) and see where you could simply pick up and run with it - but hold onto the rock - dont go into a ton of apps only to lose interest or vision.
Once you have your app - then start your promotion and stay on it - you wouldn't believe the response you'll get from not watching tv for an hour and devoting that time to blabbing about your hop.

    Good Luck and welcome

Welcome fellas. Hi Greg, I'm in law enforcement so like most public service dudes our retirement isn't anything to speak much about lol. IM is definitely an excellent avenue to pursue now that you'll be retiring. I've been fortunate thus far and when the time comes for me to go I'll be able to go right away and not worry about staying on for extra years because of money issues.

I myself really struggled to break into IM. It was in 2007 when I did the 30 Day Challenge that things turned around for me. If you haven't heard of him, Ed Dale heads the 30DC each year. I rave about the challenge because that's where I learned a very solid basic foundation of marketing. There were no missing keys, it was step by step the whole way. Whenever I speak with new marketers I always suggest going through the 30DC for a foundation and basic introduction to marketing.

I truly believe you'll learn principles which can be applied to the many marketing models available to you. Then it's just a matter of pursuing the model you feel best for your abilities and resources.

I highly suggest looking at niche marketing, especially as a beginner. You can jump in basically with no cost at all. As you begin making money there are plenty of paid tools which can make things easier and or faster as you progress.

Along those lines, be sure to pick up Lemonarion's report on The Linkwheel. This would be an excellent start in marketing. His report will give you a great foundation for niche marketing in the way of developing your money sites and ranking them to start making money.

Take some time to really go through this forum like you planned. It is a wealth of information and be sure to ask questions. If niche marketing interests you and you have any specific questions in this area, I'd be happy to offer as much help as i can.

I will tell you I'm not someone making thousands upon thousands a month, but I do pull in a nice 4 figure monthly income from niche marketing alone. Your goal of reaching $1000 per month is most definitely achieveable and realistic!

    Hello guys,

I think you need to really really focus on just one direction, I would sugest that you look at niche marketing too. Go for longtail keywords with either articles, a blog with posts for your longtails or a mix of the two.

In Lems PDFs you will find all the information you need to get going.

I would suggest leaving PPC until you are very good at keyword and competitor research, you can loose money fast there if you do not know what you are doing.

Go find Lems PDFs and start from there - most of them are stickied at the top of different forums.

    Cheers,
