Introduction Posts new guy from UK

Hey, my name's Paul, I'm based in the UK and heres my intro so listen up.

I joined NC a few days ago but its taken me to today to do the intro.

Where am I? I've basically been trying various things in IM since about Aug 2008 and have really ramped it up since the new year, my goal is to have a reasonable salary by the end of this year. I did the 30 DC in December over the course of a few days and in fairness I think that was a good learning session, it introduced me to things like hub pages, WP etc that I now know are completely standard things. I didn't make ay money though...but I think thats more down to me not doing exactly what was suggested.

An issue I've been having and it seems to be very common is getting bogged down with the shear content thats out there. You could easily spend a few years going from one shiny thing to the next with out ever really being effective.

I started playing around with PPC about a month ago and have made a few sales thro CB, the first was the sweetest and really was something of a milestone, proof that it actually works. Next on the list is to make a sale daily, then $100 daily, then I'm going to run for president or something.

I came across Lemonarians BUM stuff on my first day in and have been spending alot of time on that, it seems solid gold with diamonds on top. Although its very short, its very dense, I literally have to go over each section 4-5 times before I know what to do.

So far I'm delighted with the content and the guys on this forum, it actually feels like I'm down in my local pub, no BS, not too much formality, just cool. I'm really impressed at teh amount of energy and time people are willing to share to invest in others - its quite humbling actually. I believe strongly in getting what you give etc though, and this seems to be the philosophy with alot of guys here.

    Thats about it for me,

    Paul

    Welcome Paul.

The 30 day challenge is something that is useful to try as it gives an outline of a strategy that can be used to get familiar with some of the aspects of affiliate marketing. It works for some people as they get the timing right and find untapped niche markets or low competition niches.

Once you get familiar with the basics of any strategy it will always have a lot of variables attached to it. As you gain more experience you recognise whether a campaign is likely to be highly lucrative earlier or whether it is likely to be a drain on your time.

There are plenty of experts spread around on the forum that can help in numerous areas. The main thing you need to do is ensure you understand the basics and build your strategy around a solid base.

    Hi Paul,

I just joined the forum myself, welcome aboard. I did the 30DC in 2007, I have to say it was my turning point for internet marketing. I feel the 30DC, especially in 2007 gave me a complete basic foundation for marketing.

Once I got the true basic foundation, I was able to progress and expand on those principles. That's when I truly began to learn and make money.

You're definitely right about the amount of information and content out there on the net. That stuff claims countless victims and IM hopefuls.

I don't know if you are going through this or not, but what also turned things around for me is when i stopped jumping around to various methods. I picked one business model and stuck with it until I got it working and then expanded to others.

It definitely cuts down the information overload, distractions, and wasted time!

Anyway, good luck here. I'm sure I'll be seeing ya around the forums.
