Hi to each of you!

As a NOOB myself I am looking forward to learning about specific of internet marketing. I am initially interested in learning how to market clickbank products and how to set up affiliate sites that make money.

I am currently living in northern Ohio and working as a registered nurse. I am going to be retiring in a few years and want to develop another income stream to make a living with. I have worked as a nurse since 1975 and I am looking forward to developing expertise in affiliate marketing so that I can retire from nursing without financial concerns.

With the way the economy is today I do not want to just rely on my government pension and social security to live off of.

I did have a website for a few years on dating but never developed the expertise needed to make consistent money. If anything I have learned that I must plan, act, and then adjust based upon results. Consequently, I think I probably have some things that I need to UNLEARN as well as new things to learn for successful affiliate marketing.

I am looking forward to learning and sharing with each of you.

I currently do not have a website but want to start one up in the next week or so. I am leaning towards a wordpress site. Any thoughts?

When you said UNLEARN, I totally agree with you on that, there is so much out there we get lost in the mix.
There are simple techniques and then there are ridiculously hard techniques. I found the ones I follow are mainly article marketing, building a website and a membership site. I try to stay focused on those three and stay a steady path.
Of course I do the regular things like SEO and bookmarking ect. But it works and I try not to get involved in too much of anything else.
And yes I definitely need a product, that's why I'm here

Welcome to the forum Budc52 and unlearning is possibly one of the best learning processes in affiliate marketing... as so many "gurus" teach methods that are outdated and already discounted by search engines.

The key benefit behind article marketing is that it is ever changing with new and different sources to use as traffic funnels and therefore is very hard to become outdated... it simply requires shifting focus from one directory to another when one is no longer performing. It is also very difficult to have too many people following exactly the same strategy as there are so many article directory and web 2.0 type sites around for everyone to have the exact same link sources.

Unfortunately, you are absolutely correct, the economy just does not leave you believing you will be able to survie. Keep the faith, trust and believe you can, then you will.
