Teh Moniez baby! I'll Try Anything Once

So I have been doing the affiliate thing for about a year now. I've really only stuck to one product despite the voice in my head telling me to explore new products in different fields. It's not that I wasn't making any money, I was. I recall getting a few 100 dollar days, 50 dollar days, days were I had no sales, and so on. Keep reading... I'm getting to the point :P

So recently I saw a post for a new product - seemed interesting. Interesting enough where I finally decided to try a new product. Go me! I created a quick, yet targeted PPC campaign direct linking to the vendors website, and within 4 days I made 700 bucks. This was a great experience for me because it led me to start exploring new products and making even more money. So to sum it up, if you see something that looks interesting, go for it. You never know what could happen

Yes - diversity helps if you know the basics and apply them to test products/markets out.

The difficulty many people face is the product choices made may be highly competitive and hard to get regular sales from the outset. It causes people to lose hope and many eventually quit because of a few bad experiences.

Within highly competitive markets there are many sub-niche products that are untapped or that have little competition. It is finding these products that can turn things around for people as it gives them the experience of being able to find a product they can convert into sales.

With the knowledge gained, it becomes easier to identify which products are worth building a campaign around. If people are ever unsure of whether a product will sell or not then a test campaign using free methods is advised. For example, people could use blogger or squidoo as the landing page and then write a few articles and send traffic to those sites to see if they get sales (it doesn't cost any money directly, but it does require time).

If the product makes a few sales and has a decent conversion rate then it may be useful to build a devote site around that product or that niche. This would lead to building up a newsletter/mailing list and the possibility of selling related products in the future (more competitive products with higher commission or recurring commission).

    ^^Good points Ganceann.

And yeah, diversification is the only free lunch... whenever you enter a new niche you want to split test every product you can find and see which one converts best... even if it's like 10 products, it's worth it.

Good job man, keep it up

Cheers to your success, my friend. But don't stop! Keep pushing it to the limits. You've seen the light at the end of the tunnel; grab your campaign and run with it.
