Success story and blueprint to jump start a mini site

Hi guys!

Its AJ. Back again. I like this place. Anyway, I will share my success at the end but first I wanted to share with you a blueprint to jump start your mini sites. I have been all over the net and tested, tested and re tested everything. I have come up with a method that works well to jump start any site. This only works if you are promoting a mini site or a website, not just a link.

1st: Sign up for ping.fm. ping.fm is a social network posting service. Once you sign up for your free account view the list of networks ping can post too. There are over 50 now I believe. Sign up for every single service they can post too and link it too your ping account. They will guide you through this. All the networks they can post too are PR4 or better. This will take about a day to do but it will be worth it. Make sure you completely fill out your profile and add some content on ALL these sites. You don't want to be a squatter!

2nd: One of the services ping.fm can post too is Friend Feed. Go to your friend feed account and add all the services FF can link too including your twitter account. FF can post to twitter. Link your FF account to your twitter account. DO NOT link your ping account to twitter. Link from FF only or you will be double posting. See, ping will post to FF and FF will post everything to your twitter including your youtube vids and all.

Once you have signed up for all the services and linked all the accounts then the fun begins. Make sure you take 1 day a week to go around and tidy up all the accounts you have signed up for and make sure you bookmark them and take advantage of the "saved passwords" feature of your browser.

Now time for back linking and organic listings. Most of these sites carry high PR so when you post to ping.fm it posts to over 50 networks. The next day you will see your posts showing up in the organics and get credit for the backlinks. But there is one more step. By default ping.fm shortens any URL that you put into the post field. You need to change this or you won't get the backlinks. In your ping settings, change it to post the full URL and not auto shorten it for you. Now you will get credit for the backlinks of any URL you put in your ping posts. It works similar to twitter only you can do longer posts. Make sure you put the URL of the site you want to promote in the first 180 words or it will get cut off when it posts to twitter.

Now you can jam 50 high PR backlinks to any site in 2 seconds. DO NOT constantly post links. You will start gaining followers and friends on these networks if you post quality content. I would say only post a URL every 7 posts or so. So when you put up a new mini site, jot down a quality post and drop in the URL. By the next day you will have quality backlinks to that site.

Now, if you want to make this official, make a youtube video about your affiliate product. Make sure the URL of the mini site is in the video a couple times. Using youtube to do a review on this product is a good method. Do a video of yourself and explain how great the product is and what it did for you blah blah blah. Now, not done yet. You are not gonna get any traffic on this vid yet. In order to start getting youtube traffic and getting it to go viral, you have to promote it yourself. Start by dropping a link on ping.fm asking your following to check it out. Now, this may not bring sales, but thats not the point. You want the views. The more views you get, the higher on youtube search you will get. Now, go to ning.com. Sign up for 10 or 20 social networks relating to the mini site product. On your profiles paste the youtube videos. Then spend a day going around and leaving comments on other profiles to watch your vid. Make as many friends on ning as possible. You can start by joining my ning site if you like. parentsonline.ning.com. My people will welcome you with open arms and I allow people to promote on my network. Just don't get spammy. Post comments and make friends. The focus of signing up for the ning networks is to get views on your video and you may make the occasional sale by accident. But you want to get views on your vid, so it will go viral and drive traffic to your mini site. After about 200 views, youtube search will start picking your video up. Make sure your video is action packed and interesting.

If your not good with videos, then just don't worry about the videos. Your main goal is to get on organic search as soon as possible. By using ping.fm to post, you get about 25 or so organic search listings overnight. This will peak googles interest to the mini site and soon google will index. Now, the organic posts will die off in about a week, so make sure once a week you come up with a good non spammy post and drop the link again. You will jump back up on the top of the listings. Now, also make sure you throw the name of the product in the post without sounding spammy. I will use everloss as an example.

Now, after you have completed linking your accounts for posting with ping.fm and are ready to jumpstart backlinks and traffic. Go here: Where To Upload Video - the complete list of video sharing sites

This is an extensive list of additional video sharing sites you can upload your video too. Upload your video to 4 or 5 of these sites. I have had the best luck with daily motion because when you upload a video there you get listed in number 2 or 3 spot in the organics in like a day or 2 for whatever keys you are trying to target when someone searches for video's of your product. This isn't an exact science, watch your organic listing placement and play with it till you get the hang. Its a little different for each niche.

Now, after you have done done that, like I said, skip the video bit if you aren't good at video. Go to this site: go2web20.net. This is an extensive list of all the web 2.0 networks out there. Some of them are still in beta but all have a good PR. Look through the list and pick out sites you like. Sign up for as many of these as you can and post your links on your profile. This will gain more quality backlinks to your site and it seems that getting out of your normal path and exploring new networks works well. Make sure you bookmark these sites and keep track of them.

So, now for the short version.

Sign up for ping.fm.
Sign up for all the networks ping can post too.
Link FF to twitter.
Done with that.
Make a vid. and post vid to video sites
Drag vid embed to all ning sites to get views
Watch your vid views and viral rating closely. Post it more if you need too until it gets picked up in search.
Make sure mini site is ready for bus. and the SEO is good. Make use of your robots.txt
Drop the link to your mini site or any mini site you want to boost traffic and backlinks too once every 7 posts.
Folllow this up with article writing or your normal promotional methods.

Now, time to tidy up. Pick one day once a week to go to all the sites you signed up for to make friends and update your profile. You will start to build a following on most of these sites if you come up with some interesting content. Remember, ping.fm adds content to these sites automatically, but it won't make friends for you. You need to go to them and accept friend requests and ask people to be your friend.

So, if you have 50 sites ping will post to, and on each site you have 50 friends. Add that up, because thats how many updates and emails will be going out. When I send a post on ping, my traffic will jump 100 visits that day that I sent out the ping. For whatever link I drop. All these backlinks will start to gain you better standing and you will start to climb the organics ladder. Use a service such as google analytics or something to monitor all this action and tune as necessary.

When you put up a new mini site. Start all over. It will take about 2 days to complete this process but I can get 100 visits a day to a site with no organic listing and no PPC just following this method. Monitor your analytics to see when your organic starts coming in. Then, things will start to go viral and just babysit it and send out more pings till this happens.

Well, there ya go. Hopefully you got all that. I am sure I may have left something out. If you are like me you can pull this all off in 1 day. In all the testing I have done I have seen no signs of penalty for building backlinks to fast.

So, my success story. I use this method and it works well. I have had lots of success with it. I am not at the moment promoting any CB products. I have my own product and website that I sell and it works well. I actually continue this method for my main site a couple times a week and my traffic gets higher every day. I have one site with an Alexa of 300k and one at about 250k. I will continue till I get in the top 100k. My sites get about 300 visits or so a day. All from soc. nets. and organic traffic. I make enough money now to pay the bills. LOL.

Anyway, now that I have developed some good skills. I have returned to put up some of Norbs mini sites and try my hand at CB again. Just as a side job. My main business is going well. So, point me to the affiliate materials someone, I am behind on the daily motion here!

Well, it probably is a lot of work. Like I said though, dedicating 2 days could make it happen. Lots of repetitive tasks. but, your right.. probably not many would try it....lol. But, I say anything in life worth having is worth working for. Ya, I am kinda in the MMO niche. You can check out my site if you want and then you'll get an idea what I do. Teach people how to use hosting and build websites. Stuff like that.

+rep for the detailed overview and I would suggest that mixing things up by not doing everything exactly the same way will help bring a more natural appearance to things.

With any online marketing, success will be achieved with some work and more importantly without spamming or abusing any service (if something does go viral and gets 1000s of views there is no need to try and replicate it by posting loads per day... things will go viral if they have the right hook and therefore posting in moderation, even after something going viral, it helps keep your reputation growing).

I see you use twitter antantnz, here is an excellent resource for managing multiple twitter accounts from one central location. Also does URL shortening and link tracking so you can see who is clicking on your twitter links.

Sorry I didn't get to ya sooner. I was busy doing the promoting thing......lol. Anyway, I will simplify it a little. Now, I can't do it for you......lol......unless you want to pay me.....LMBO! Anyway, I promise if you take the time to do this right it will pay off.

1 thing you have to remember, it takes a following on these sites to get big response, but once you link all these sites to ping.fm, all you have to do is make posts, just like twitter and people will start to follow you. Once you get the ball rolling, the steam will keep picking up.

So, here you go in slow motion:

Sign up for ping.fm
Inside your ping.fm account is a list of sites that ping can post to automatically. Follow this list and sign up for all of them. You will have to check your email, and click all the confirm email address links they send. I would recommend using the same pass and user on all just so you don't get confused.

Now, make sure you have linked them to your ping.fm account. Now, you are going to link FriendFeed to your ping account also. But DO NOT link your twitter account to ping. Link your FF account to ping. The reason for this is you will be double posting if you do, and also, FF will post all kinds of other content to your twitter account which helps you make tweets and get followers.

Now, once you have linked all these accounts, you are ready to start dropping "tweets". Now, treat your ping.fm account the same as you would your twitter account. Quality tweets, with an occasional link drop.

So, when you have your site ready, just make up a nice tweet, and drop the link to it at ping.fm. Ping will post this to 50 or so of the networks you signed up for. With testing we have found that being on most of these high PR social networks, you get a good ranking on google. Now, in addition to that, you are going to have 50 or so other organic search positions due to all these postings. Give it a day or 2 and google the URL of your site. You will see all these new organic search listings coming up from FF, twitter, and the other 48 or so networks ping posted you too.

Now, if you want to get even deeper into it, and put in some harder work. Make a video and upload it to youtube.com, and dailymotion.com. Your FF account will pick these up and post them to twitter for all to see. Now, you won't get views on these vids just by uploading them. You have to promote them for awhile yourself until they get popular enough to get picked up in youtube search. Now, the beauty of dailymotion is they aren't as big as youtube. So if you SEO the tags and desc. on your vid right, you'll hit top search on dailymotion in a day.

Now, you need to get your youtube vid going viral. Don't worry about the dailymotion vid, let it sit there. It will get picked up in organic search in about 24 hours. So, you need to promote the youtube vid.

Go to ning.com and sign up for a bunch of ning networks. You can start by looking at mine so you get an idea how it works. parentsonline.ning.com. Then, sign up for at least 5 more. More if you want to. Now, this part takes a little time. But, what I want you to remember is once you do this 1 time, you don't have to repeat it for the next product. Sign up for the nings. Put the video on your profile along with any other promo stuff. DO NOT go pasting the vid and promo stuff anywhere else on the site. They will call you out for spamming. Keep it on your profile only. Remember, the reason for this is to get views anyway, not to really sell anything. If you make an accidental sale, the kudo's.

Now that you have your profile filled out, hit the members area. Just click on profiles and leave a comment like this:

Hi, my name is Willyboy, I would like to invite you to view my profile. I have a video on there that I think might interest you. Also, while you are there please add me as a friend. Thanks. Willyboy.

Don't say anything other then that. They will come. Now, people are going to be inviting you to be a friend. So you need to check your networks everyday and accept the friend requests. I know, its work, but once they are a friend, they are always a friend. I have 5000 friends on ning and counting and I can jam 5k emails in 2 seconds now. Don't invite them as friends, ning only allows 100 pending invites and they don't tell you when youve reached 100. So your sending out invites for nothing. Ask them to add YOU. Just like the comment above.

Now, you are going to have to click on like 50 or 100 profiles a day and leave a comment. I usually set aside an hour a day just to do comments on profiles. Your friend list will start to build. Believe me, the work is worth it. Like I said, you only have to go through this 1 time. And if you want to build a big following that you can throw to any site you want, then its worth doing.

Ok, so, you are commenting, getting views and getting invites. Make your vid COOL! Vids don't go viral unless something COOL happens. Use your imagination and watch some other youtube vids that are popular. don't do anything offensive. Start your vid out with a deer getting hit by an airplane or something.LOL......then say, see, if that deer would have bought the forex brotherhood, he wouldn't have been living on the runway.......

Just be creative. If at first you don't succeed, make another vid. Now, after your vid gets about 200 views, it will start getting picked up in youtube search. Once this happens, continue to promote it and watch it climb.

Yes, you are correct. This will add additional backlinks for your content and also grab you some more organic spots. But yes, I usually try to add as many services as I am on to FF.

I just didn't expect that to happen that quick considering that my actual website isn't even built out yet. I just have an opt-in box on there. Haven't made any videos, nor joined Ning. Just using ping.fm as written above reaped the bump in PageRank. Nice.

Another great one and after 4 years of trying to find this kind of excellent and somewhat seems easy even if it is a little tedious, I can definitely take the time to try and get this done as soon as I get back home on Monday.

Rule of thumb: Make it look natural. Build your links slowly and steadily. Only build quality, related links. Vary the sources of your links. Avoid bad neighborhood (links from spam or "spammed" sites), don't buy link packages.

Linking from several High quality sites all in a sudden is a very bad idea as it will not look natural.

Build those High PR links slowly, if you build them off all in the same day will most likely get you sandboxed. It is even more true if your websiite is new.

If you stick by those rules you should not be frowned upon by Google.
