#3 - we added a 3 day trial (horrible!! our bottom line dropped like crazy and the cancels went through the roof).

Short term trial membership won't work because people takes time to digest information and actually implement them to work and see the results before they decide on anything, and as a newbie myself, I've got to say NC got a lot of good information that might overwhelm people especially newbies.

Just an idea though, if you would make this a product. At the launch, give away One Month FREE membership for people to taste the candy. If you go down that road, you can do two things:
1) FIRST is for affiliate won't get a commission for the first month because it's free but that is naturally compensated with a lot of prospects joining in their opts in.
2) OR SECONDLY, better yet since it will be recurring commission, you can compensate for the first month commissions to be worked out later on during second month and so on (if you're doing 60-65% aff commission, then you might give 75% until it's fully compensated) this way, affiliates will win both ways, but NC would also get an advantage that since affiliates are gaining a lot from this, they will maintain their prospects extra so they will continue memberships or even buy the whole year package.

It's a WIN-WIN-WIN solution in my opinion and it will create quite a buzz because I don't think Clickbank ever has released a one month free on recurring product. (forgive me if I'm wrong, but I'm just a newb )

The problem I see with that idea is that people will come to the forum take what information they want from the forum and then leave again. They will take all the eBooks and guides that are on offer as well as the tools and any pre-launch or leaks we have.

It just seems to me that if we were to do something like that people would exploit the forum and then never come back.

Instead I think Norb has it right with a quartely and yearly subscription.

I think the subscription is just fine... offering any free time is just going to horde the leachers.

I thought there were no e-books involved. If there are, probably not give access to the e-books until they actually pay the second month. First month they will be free to roam the forum just like now (except VIP area), but they will be able to access e-book the second month unless they pay for first month. Give them 2 options, I guess. It takes a lot more work, but I was thinking it could be an option to think of.

Besides forum always updated with new information, if they try to be cheap, they will lose the future information posted here, but I guess robbing the existing materials is good enough already for newbies to learn for a long time

I mean the Ebooks and guides and discounts that NC members give to other members and the project wealthy ebooks that Norb has let people download for free.

* One month free = tons of leechers (we did this actually, before it was paid I announced one month prior that this is the last month to join free). With CB though, you cannot give away a free trial, minimum i believe is $4.00 for a recur/intro price.
* 3 day free trial = tons of cancellations and attracts low quality prospects (we just did it)
* Annual only = attracts great prospects with money but less of them
* Quarterly and annual = best mix so far re conversions and attracting the demo we want. Being a noob is ok, being a cheap bastard who knows they can refund anyway and still won't up $47 without kicking and screaming is not - I would rather not even tempt those people with trials and freebies. I don't want this place to explode with aggressive cheap noobs, I want to continue attracting great people that 'get it', and will see the value/return with us quickly.

We've gone through many variations, and now I'm close to making different sales pages so you guys can choose whichever one(s) you want to promote (there will be 4-5 different sales pages for you to pick from).

Glad to see you guys picking this apart however it's positioned well and I think the price points are still very fair. We'll review again in a few months.

Only users can improve a forum like NC, DP or warriors. Unfortunately is a large piece of garbage, and there's nothing much going on there anymore. It's nothing like it used to be..
