?? I dun get it.....?? Im in debt to aweber apparently!

    Hey guys,

I stopped using aweber a few months back because I reaslised it wasnt working for the particular niche I was in, so i never paid the bill. Now they are emailing me asking me to pay off my invoice and claiming they will take legal action as this is the last invoice they will send me.

I thought that the way it works was that you give them the money you get a months membership then the next month the same, so if i was to not pay them i would not get that month's membership. In this circumstance I would owe them nothing. As it was a few months ago I cannot recall if my account was still active during the second month even without me paying them.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me? I have emailed them back explaining this and asking this but I expect to get back an email after the holidays saying "Our records show you owe blah blah blah"

Thanks for any help and I realise its only 20 dollars but i just hate it when people threaten to take 'legal action' against me when I am quite sure I have not gotten anything free outa them.

    Crappy,

    * Every recur I've ever encountered or promoted, requires the customer to formally cancel their recurring fee. Meaning phone/email/unsub etc. and have it documented and confirmed. What just happened to you is how they retain probably well over 30-40% of their rev. They may not actually take the legal route over 20 or a few hundred bucks, they may get collections CO's to try to hound you and your family for a bit though in worst case... Or actually - here do this lol >> http://forums.nichechoppers.com/bar-...os-spider.html

you could try and explain that you havent used the service for so many months, and they could look and verify, and they may settle it with you...

Haha @ Norb. Scratch his suggestion!

I would recommend you contact them and explain your story. Simply say what you wrote above ... but add some icing to the cake. For example: [write about the poor converting niche and you stopping the use of their service before the bill] go on to say - I will however ... start to use your service for another niche in about a month or so. Your tools are top of the line and I enjoy the kind/understanding/knowledgeable customer support... I hope you understand my circumstance...

Make them get the impression that you'll stay with their company if they remove the charge. Forcing them to realize/see this math problem... 20 dollars once verses $240 /year.

    Cheers,
    Kevin

wow, I would sooo do a squidoo lens on this and show the letter and everything.... hahaha what idiots I use getresponse so I don't know what goes on over at aweber but I think people need to hear it so aweber changes their ways.

Im going to be doing a lens and a video on how WAMU (the bank) charged me $8 per debit machine usage over 40 times throughout October till today end of December. They refuse to cancel out the charges and are trying to force me to pay. I will eventually have to pay, but they are going to lose some people, especially people who see my video and lens.
