I did! Thats where i started making money online, like alot of people.

I made $900 from selling a pretty poor domain, but with good traffic, plus another $200 in parking clicks.

But.. thats all I did make, and I had about 20-25 domains.

Its hard work to be honest, best if you get a high traffic website that you dont wana use, park it at sedo and you'll probably find a buyer fairly soon, who wants their fingers in your parking pie.

I wouldnt recommend it anymore, its slowly dying out with all the good domains gone! although somehow Norb always finds good ones for his products lol.

I was looking at my portfolio just last night. I have 41 domains right now. Recently sold two sites, one sold for $400 and one sold for $100. The key was traffic and status/pr though, not much value without those I find.

I have too many domains/sites to deal with, some aren't even live/parked! I might off load some here soon, most are nichechopper product related or other CB products. Some of the early sites have a lot of traffic, but the visitors are not very good for much other than Adsense, which does OK, not much to write home about.

Once I sold the $100 domain, I immediately bought another similar domain with better keywords for $10 and then set up the same offer and changed all my incoming links to the new site, just rinse and repeat. Will hopefully cover the cost of hosting all of these sites in the long term.

Valuing domains and sites is the most difficult thing for me.

what??! with domains being registered everyday, short brandable domains can do nothing but rise in value. finding a brandable domain is vital part of building an authority site in your niche..

unless of course you make worthless wordpress blogs @ www.longtaildomainwith10searchsaday.com

I'm with Jason on this one. As long as those short brandable domanins are generic words. There's a great percentage of domain names that are registered that have absolutely no meaning to anyone but the person who registered it. The valuable domains are generic words. It is then your job, through marketing and branding, to equate that generic word with your product or service...

    Xerox
    Q-tips
    Coke
    etc......

I have 41 domains right now.
Make that 44! Norb needs to slow down with these releases!

For SEO I would rather have longtail keyword domains than FEIW.COM, unless you just want a website that you are going to promote offline, ie on business cards etc.

    Just my 2p.

I have quite a few .info domains now what do people think of them?

Reallly cool! domain names are still a good business

Last year I had over 280 domain names, now down to 80. Some sold over $1K, others for $10. When I start a new project/product I do my keyword research and find combinations with high search numbers and try to combine them.
I have a good number of domains with dash and double dash and they work great with the SE, anchor and title texts.
I have 10 dating sites running, some with our local ladies personally recruited in Colombia. When I joined an affiliated network and needed a new name:
"dating" search number 24.9 million, "chicas" (nickname for latin girls) search number 835,000.
I combined both as dating chicas, daily visits between 400 to 1,000, and was within 10 days number 1 and 2 in google.
You have to be creative with your search, keywords, title and anchor text.
When I start a new promotion I actually overbuy domain names, like I even did with the NC products here.
    for sale now:
    ethyc.com all 3 as package $295
    ethyc.us
    ethyc.co.uk
    obamawinner.com $995
    chiefobama.com $695
    hotdietreport.org $25
    howtosavegasoline.net $25
    howtosavegasoline.org $25
    ipod-wii.com $75
forex--tracer.com 2 dash for NC members at cost $10
forex--detector.com 2 dash for NC members at cost $10
forextrading-brotherhood.com for NC members at cost $10
seductiontips4idiots.com for NC members at cost $10
    recommendblog.com $95
fatloss-forever.com for NC members at cost $10
these are domains without websites for sale
then I have domains with active websites for sale.
    latinsweetgirls.com $445
    elmolivetoys.com $995
    and many more
contact me for list of available income producing websites

I learned one thing in my live, moving to other countries, and had to sell nice furniture, a car, collectibles, etc. You can only take so much with you and it becomes more economical to just replace and buy new things. Same with our business on the internet.
If you get the right offer for your VR (virtual real estate) sell it. Start over.

    any interested, PM me

I have been doing this for some years, although I made some money at the beginning, the success ratio doesn't really worth it! You better off marketing or publishing CB products instead.

someone said something about worthless blogs...serious?

hmmm..Bankaholic is a blog that made 22-year-old Johns Wu a cool 15 million. He got 12.5 million up front and the balance he is getting paid to continue maintaining the blog for Bankrate, the buyer.

    blogs are far from worthless

Your right, blogs are valuable - every site should have one somewhere, for hoarding articles.

Guys, i'm talking about building a powerhouse website around a brandable two word domain. no hyphens etc.. all the one word domains are taken, still some great twoword.com's out there.
