I have no idea if this is the best section to post this in ... anywayz, admins, move it to wherever is appropriate ...

the other day i was researching a product, and i thought, just out of curiousity, that i'd look up one of the dp forum member's nicknames, gather some intelligence ...

well ... i couldn't believe how much intelligence i gathered ... this person had joined a large number of forums, in the same niche that i compete in, all with the exact same nickname in each one ... now as a competitor, that kind of information is absolute gold!! (ah, i'm sure you could figure out how it could be useful)

so noobs and not so noobs ... my suggestion, if you don't want your methods to be an open book, be smart, use more than one nickname in forums, in fact, use several ...

of course, anyone who really wants to research you will find a way ... but, there's no reason to make it google easy for them now is it ...

of course, perhaps some people do it intentionally to build up their name ... and if so, kudos to them ....

but personally, i think it is better to be like an underground train, working through the tunnels making your money, rather than walking down the street and letting everyone see how you are doing it ...
