    Default So many noob publishers

These days if you check out DP you constantly see that every other thread is a guy putting out his new product, the problem with this is that all the people you see putting these products out are noobs so I am reluctant to jump on their wagon because it will more than likely be a flop.

Do you reckon these guys are just putting these products out there not expecting to make much from affiliates but instead to promote it themselves and any affiliate sales are just a bonus?

This is what I am planning on doing, I am currently promoting a product, X, but I am thinking that I could make a better product and a sales page of similar quality, so why should I settle for 75% when i could get the whole of it!?

Anyway this post wasnt so much a question as it was a discussion point, what do you think of all these new publishers? Do you think most of them will flop with some of them being the new Norbs and Swerds?

    Food for thought

I was a publisher noob too.

I was in a tough niche.. but let me just say Norb and Swerd and everyone else thats successful do ALOT of hard work.

I spent lots of time on my product - And well, id didnt make a single $0.01. (apart from when i sold the whole package lol).

I too have noticed an increase in product launches, and yes, most of them will flop. Look for good, detailed affiliate pages. It means they care! Also run a google on the product, see if its already got people promoting it, or, just ask!! If i launched a product, with no real performance stats and someone asked about them, i would be more than happy to tell because someone who asks is usually someone very interested!

Did you not make any sales promoting it yourself either ashley? Thats too bad

I hate promoting for other people after seeing Norbs affiliate materials, you always feel like other publishers arent doing the business but Norb really does go above and beyond what you need!

I couldn't agree more. I'm not certain, but from the "quality" of many of the sales pages, I'm betting that most of these publishers are the ones hurting their sales. Many of them are just downright hideous or painful to look at. That's why Norb's products stood out so much for me. Branding and presentation are so critical and a lot of these publishers don't seem to get that.

I totally agree with you guys! It seems that most noob publishers have the idea that just because you launch a crappy product you'll start making sales, and not i think it is a much more complex process. Yes, New publishers will raise and those that are not creative or that take care for their affiliates will fail.

This is exactly what I did. I made my own forex product, got it converting better than what I was promoting previously, and now making $1000 days like they are nothing.

Shame I posted it on DP forums on a 2nd account and then both accounts got banned today until Feb 17th though lol, oh well.

I just think noobs think they can just make a **** load of money just by putting a product out there!

What I am going to do is put out a product better than my competitor (the guy I am currently promoting) but I am going to promote it myself! so if someone else promotes it that is great but is they dont then I am still making more than I was before!

Ya man that's why this "job" is so amazing, the sky is the limit! If you can manage and market your own product well enough to make a sick income, then why the hell wouldn't you, right?

Just like if you had a "real job" with this thing called a "boss", you may get promoted to take on more responsibility in a better job, you take it unless you have no balls.

Yeah fcuk em'! I agree and I really like that mentality that's what this industry needs now when we see a lot of pseudo-competitors out there. Dominate em' all!

    cheers!

There is a right way and a wrong way to become a competitor and launch a product... the right way is obviously to create the product yourself while the wrong way is to just simply copy the existing product word for word and pass it off as your own.

There are also other factors involved as well - like customer support... would you be able to provide adequate customer support when you launch dozens of products... even if it is only a few sales per month, with dozens of products the support queries can build up and even get forgotten.

Absolutely. Be prepared to answer questions each and every day from potential customers and existing customers. I know some publishers out there just completely ignore their customer support all together. I know because I as an affiliate even received e-mails from these customers saying they couldn't get ahold of the publisher for help, or refund requests.

But I can see having 100+ gravity, and getting anywhere from 20-50 sales a day or more, and having to deal with that kind of customer support load. You would need to hire someone to specifically answer emails.

Exactly K, a good publisher should always and constantly giving support to his customers and affiliates as well, just like Norb.

Affiliates have a very strong need for high quality products to promote, that pays them high commissions and that gives them constant support to make more money out of their efforts.
