Introduction Posts noob just closing in on first thousand

    Hi,

I've been lurking around here for a few weeks now and I think I'm ready to start participating. I found this place by following one of Norb's links in the EverLoss thread he posted on DP. Everloss looks like it could be big and I'm anxious to start promoting it. I just set up a landing page and PPC campaign for Efficient Planet as well.

My background is in web application development which led to SEO which led to IM. I signed up at ClickBank in May, got my first paycheck in August and I've been paid every two weeks since then. I'm a couple of sales away from my first $1000.

I guess my goals here are to keep learning and to try to keep knocking off milestones. My next goal is to have a $1000 month. I made $600 last month, but October hasn't started as well. I figure promoting some of the quality products here might get me going in the right direction again.

    We'll see how it goes.

    George

    Greetings George,

Seems to me that you have a good head on your shoulders. We like that . Be active, ask questions and you'll make that 1k in no time. Most (eh ... all) of the crap on DP is a waste of space. Enough said.

I do a lot of scrolling around on DP ... people bashing each other and flaming 'noobs'. If you would like to fail at affiliate marketing, I would recommend you read every post on DP. It's almost like a distraction of sorts.

    NicheChoppers = less scrolling .

    Cheers,
    Kevin

As cryptic as that sounds, n0xter is right

Welcome to the 'less scroll' community - I like that n0x! Perhaps you'll relate sooner than later, I also go there to get caught up on the newest... soap opera style of the marketing world - filtering info and good threads in there is like finding a needle in a pile of needles.

PS Kevin I really appreciate the way you are contributing around here btw - must be noted so thank you mate

Thanks for the response Kevin. I really can't knock DP though. I found lots of great info there that got me this far. This summer I got to witness (and participate in) a pretty epic product launch (Swerd's E4E), see all of the copycats emerge and observe a flameout for the ages (Exilus). I will admit things haven't been as interesting there lately.

Thanks for the welcome Norb and thanks for this forum. I hope to learn alot here and I'll do my best to contribute to the conversation. I'll still have to keep an eye on DP too though to watch for interesting product launches, tips, scams, meltdowns, etc.

Cheers and yes, I still go there as well, as much as I've grown to see it for what it is, all of what you noted (e4e, exilus, others...) was/is epic

See you around mate and enjoy the banter.

Oh, indeed. I'll go there to either laugh or smile at new products. I'm just being completely honest.

Let me decrypt it for you and explain the reason to my madness:
In the Untied States we have a TV channel called MTV. Interesting enough, most children/teenagers find drama and violence entertaining. This has driven the viewership of MTV to unseen levels.

Think back to when you were in High School... are you there yet? Good. When a fight broke lose, what happened? People crowd around each other and yell, "ohhh" or "punch him/her in the face, dowg". This just adds to the fire and makes the fight happen if it wouldn't otherwise. When you have 20+ people crowding around you, you feel a need to perform. It's just human nature. Everyone wants to fit in, one way or another.

Have a look at DP now and consider what I wrote above. Making sense? No? I'll explain further. People want to be entertained - always! So think of a thread as two people fighting, and us (the views) get sucked into it (the crowd). There are those that will create the content and those that read it. Most of that content is fit will one thing in mind - entertainment.

However, here? People get banned and threads get closed for such nonsense. Would you go to a library to study more on affiliate marketing or a concert?

I say all that to say this (and to open your eyes); get in and get out. Don't find yourself reading the flames and childish comments. Submerge yourself in relevant information and knowledge will come next. End of story.

    Cheers,
    Kevin O.

Congrats on edging up on that first $1,000! I've just recently passed that total earnings mark myself and started up around the same time you had.

Hopefully one day I can start seeing those earnings weekly. Gotta get outta the corporate world sometime!
